Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

Couple quick pics of the work to fix the flaws of the first road test. Z32 brake master in 1 1/16" bore. The Z31 master worked, but had too odd of a pedal feel to let a new driver daily it. http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc246/StumpyFinger/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-04/20160412_111645_zpsxihvxkai.jpg...

Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

It was down to the wire but I got my driveshaft back around noon on Friday. I had spent the morning trying to button up the little stuff to be ready just in case. Ended up with the truck washed and on the road by 3:00pm. At first the only major issue seemed to be a rather squishy brake pedal, but af...

Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

I was pretty lucky that it was installed by the original owner. I had to partially rebuild it when I moved in as the previous, one owner inbetween us, had removed the arms and lost the hardware when converting the shop for use as a horse barn. Being a single post has some downsides but, not too many...

Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

I wish I had a welder and some skills. I'd love to do the same to the 521. It does make it easier to get projects done for sure. So...I started the reassembly process of the rear, got the new steel painted, installed the new shocks, installed the one correct e-brake cable RockAuto sent me and am wa...

First, pics from the last post, well except the stereo and the antenna, because they're boring lol. Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

On the torch regulator situation, they sent me an adapter free of charge to "fix" the issue. It works but I'll probably take advantage of the 5 year warranty through Victor at some point to exchange it later. On the truck, got the steel fit and welded out to complete the frame boxing. Now to layout ...

Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

Went out to the shop today to cut out the plate for boxing the frame. Opened up the brand new Victor torch set up I bought a little over a year ago to use it for the first time, this is what stopped all work. http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc246/StumpyFinger/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-03/20160308_103...

Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

As I posted earlier, I have a plan laid out and finally got to start on it. Spent roughly 6 straight hours yesterday cutting and grinding to remove what had been 2 days of fabbing and welding of the rear half of the frame. Spent today picking up steel, refilling gas bottles, buying some new parts, a...

Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

Had some time to get a few things done on the truck, not much of it pic worthy. The biggest thing was being able to put a set of wheels and tires on it to set it down and check the frame clearance on the e-brake brackets. It's gonna be close but I think I can get away with some slight hammer adjustm...

Re: 720 King Cab rear window seal wanted

The difference I've found between slider vs. solid rear window seals has to do with the width of the internal groove. Solid windows the groove is the same width as the glass thickness, sliders it's usually much thinner. This is because the slider frames have a much thinner flange around the outer ed...

Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

Between Christmas, a vacation to Maui the first part of January, and yet another kidney stone work kinda came to a screeching halt on the truck as of late. Lots of armchair planning the next move has been happening though, so as soon as everything aligns again to allow some progress to be made a sol...

Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

I had a kidney stone once. Hory shet that was terrible. Shit sucks, and to know I have 3 more possible sucks even more. This truck is getting some some pretty decent work done to it. Should be pretty cool when all said and done. Thanks for the compliments. Currently the c-notch and wrap up of the e...

Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

Picked up the driveshaft today. Doesn't mean much as I won't have time to do much work on the truck for awhile due to holiday prepping and such. I'll still try and escape into my shop and make at least some forward progress when I can lol Forgot to include the riveting pic of a converted driveshaft ...

Re: My bi-monthly post, yet another new 720..

Welcome to the world of 720 Kingcabs lol. I have two 1985 Kingcabs myself, love 'em. I really like my BellTech drop leaf packs but, I can see the appeal of keeping it cheap and going with 4x4 springs as well. I can't give any input on a ride comparison as I've never gone for a ride in a truck with t...

Re: Starting with Style, 1995 D21 Built for a new driver

Got the rear discs all buttoned up. After finishing the brake line reroute to accommodate, finished installing the 240sx brake master. Now on to bleeding the system. With the rear brake setup done I was able to bolt on a set of wheels and set the truck down on them to get the accurate measurement fo...
