Re: Jacob's other Wagon

I did 221 last weekend when my friend told me the M3 torque spec... It's less fun when it's a constant 100ish lbft to just pull the axle the rest of the way into the hub. At least my torque wrench is like 2.5 feet long.

Re: Jacob's other Wagon

That was the worst wheel bearing job I have ever done. Started back at removing the CV axle. It was really stubborn. Made my own puller tool. Got it to the point where I was bending steel pretty easily, then proceeded to swing my 3lb hammer like a baseball bat. It moved finally. I lost a 16mm socket...

Re: Greenvanner?...

I can see the appeal. Portland (Saint Johns specifically) has a pretty decent Van scene. Im glad you got something you can drive and enjoy.

Im sure you will get it working better in no time. And with a 350, parts will be forever cheap.

That green is great too. Not too bad of a deal.

Re: Jacob's other Wagon

Havent done a whole lot to the car. I did install a catch can, which worked for a week.... This motor just wants to eat oil any way it can. Saturday I installed a new waterpump and lower radiator hose. The waterpump developed a slooooooooow leak (I noticed the leak in November when I was under the c...

Re: The "Retired" 510

I did that to mine. Best mod ever. I used some off of a Civic hatchback, with simple bolt through bushings on the ends.

Re: Jacob's goon build

Ok fine, Ill feed the sharks. 3/4-16 LH taps are spendy. Soooo, I have access to CNC Lathes... I really hate the lower control arms I had made. Im not sure if I even had used moog ones (really just wanted moog balljoints). So I ordered in a new set to remake them. Got my plan of attack Monday after ...

Re: The "Retired" 510

Tire will hit, at least it will when cornering. Tires move quite a bit.

You could also cut the sleeve a bit to raise the collar. Or get a steel ring and weld it (as it will be far narrower).

And I failed. But I did get some things in the mail Saturday/yesterday. And I actually sat down and figured out my next step to take.

Re: Waynos 1966 datsun 520 ute

Put a modern 80amp+ IR alternator on it. That woke up the wiper motor on my 510 (the one everyone complains about being too slow). It also brought my turn signal flashing speed to modern car timing.

Re: The never ending Project(s)

Looks like a pretty decent start.

Sounds like I might have to open up a wiring diagram too see whats going on.

Holy shit dude, 137lbs is not much, I think you are taller than me? One of my friends is my height, and he is skinny at 140Lbs.

2wd Hardbodies only.

Sherwood PnP is actually a nice place. Ive never really had any bad dealings there, and have gotten plenty of stuff for free.

Re: The "Retired" 510

I did something similar when I changed the struts on my moms car. New struts had oval holes where the OEM ones didn't. Just a quick reference off the frame of the car to the wheel hub when tightening made it come out perfect.

No the 1 year only L20b front sump. HL510 and the S110 had them in 1979.

Re: Waynos work truck.

PickNPull puts holes in all Oil pans and gas tanks. Faster than finding the right bit to undo the drain plug. Or in the case of a gas tank, even getting to the drain plug.

Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

What you will probably do is acquire a golf cart, or one of those little john deere 4x6 things, or just an ATV. Plus they help move things around easily. My friends farm uses ATVs to get anywhere fast. They have 3 or 4. They even attach sprayers to one of them to spray all the plants. My mothers SO ...

Re: Converted is back 74 b210

Ive flown a few. Foamies are the best though. Made from sheet foam, like 1/8th, with flat carbon inserted for rigidity. Micro servos, and a little electric engine. Things scoot, but also can be super slow. Easy to manage in a backyard, so you can fly it whenever. And if it crashes, its made of super...
