Re: Around Waynos house

There has to be more than just a square end with no joint, right? What do both ends look like? Standard 6 spline? That is a home made end, but that is how it basically connects under the tractor, it's this slip joint connection that connects directly to the mower assembly, but since the tiller is o...

Re: Around Waynos house

I spent some time under the tractor this evening, all the levers that controlled the forward and reverse movement were loose, and I mean sloppy loose, so loose that even though I would have to go past neutral to get it to stop going either direction, I had to work on 4 different things, 3 were under...

Re: Around Waynos house

I bought a cheapo trailer with it also, the whole idea was to have something that could drag around complete vehicles and haul heavy stuff like engines/transmissions without having to use a hand truck and my poor old body, I was going to buy a Yard Machine riding lawn mower, but most of them are bel...

Re: Around Waynos house

Yea I was looking at that, it's not very quiet with that setup, not sure what the stock one looks like, not sure I could even get one, this is a classic. I think the muffler is supposed to be just above the fuel filter I installed, but that huge battery is there, and so is my fuel filter now. Right ...

Re: Around Waynos house

So I bought this tractor the other day, I kinda wish I had not bought it now as it is a classic, but it is mine now so I will work with what I bought. https://s26.postimg.org/mp8i9s8jd/DSCN7366.jpg https://s26.postimg.org/7kcec9kc9/DSCN7368.jpg I also got this, https://s26.postimg.org/ad5lwakop/DSCN...

Re: Jacob's other projects

I thought $12,000 was stupid expensive myself, after talking to him he had bids from $7,000 to $12,000 and he took the $12,000 bid from Home Depot, I guess the $7,000 bid was one guy and winter was here, like you he had a 1 1/2 day break in the rain and Home Depot got it done it when it was dry, the...

Re: Jacob's other projects

The neighbor said they only had to replace one 2X8 foot piece of plywood on his roof.
I only had to replace around a 2X3 foot piece on my roof because of ants.

Re: Jacob's other projects

I just found out today that the neighbor paid $12,000.00 to have his roof stripped(tear off) of 2 layers of roofing, and then had a 50 year roof installed, it looked like 30 year roofing to me, but they(Home Depot) are guaranteeing it for 50 years(has warranty), a contractor working for Home Depot p...

Re: Jacob's other projects

That is good  It took me 2 weeks and 2 days to do my roof from start to finish(I put the roofing on the roof myself), and it did get rained on one night, but all the felt paper was down so I didn't have a leak. It was hot(90s) most of the job, and I didn't work full time, sometimes I only wo...

Re: Wynona the wagon's resurrection!

I am kinda surprised that with all the auto work you have done over the years that you didn't already have a chain hoist.

How cold is it over there?
I worked outside all day, it was in the mid 40s all day and it still is right now(46).

Re: Jacob's other projects

I hope they get most of it done tomorrow, I seen a crew get the house down the street done in 12/14 hours, but the roofing material was put on the roof a couple days before.

Re: My 1969 Datsun 521 kingcab diesel

The gas they sell these days rusts out empty tanks, you absolutely do not want a tank to be unused/almost empty, my work trucks extra tank got wasted in no time because it had less than a gallon splashing around in the bottom, and when I put fresh fuel in it it ruined the fresh fuel. If the 521 tank...

Re: My 1969 Datsun 521 kingcab diesel

This is what I did for the fuel filler as the way it was didn't work very well. https://s7.postimg.org/6g463kgjf/DSCN7339.jpg Well postimage still is not working, I will insert the photo when it starts working properly. The reason I went this way is because the tank is on the passenger side, yet the...

Re: LZ20 engine build

I don't ask for discounts, they used to give them to me when there were guys in there that could find parts, these guys at Baxters cannot find anything except maybe the door and their car when they get off work. The bearing place I ended up at told me the 305 they have would not work for me as it ha...

My neighbor built a mount near his tailgate to mount a crane/hoist to pick up rocks off the ground after he seen mine I use to lift heavy stuff into my truck, he filled his driveway with rocks. https://s8.postimg.org/m8nmqfxth/DSCN7337.jpg Here is the start of filling his driveway. https://s8.postim...

Re: LZ20 engine build

Buying cluster gear/counter shaft bearings for the FS5W71B has become a challenge, I supposedly have 4 of the 56mm bearings coming from Georgia, the 63mm version(#22bc06s5x) for the 85+ Nissan 720 is not as easy so far, I have only one lead right now and I suspect they might have a minimum order, I ...
