Re: Projects from THE COMPOUND!
The HFs seem to really vary. They're either shit right out of the box, or they work fine (at least that's what all the reviews would indicate). My HF 7"/9" is at least 10 years old and keeps on ticking. There have been a couple times when it ran at a slower RPM and smelled pretty hot. I thought the ...

Re: Projects from THE COMPOUND!
Keep an eye on CL. If I was being choosy and patient, I'd look for the 4" Makitas. The one I have is at least 20 years old and still sounds and feels better than the other that are all newer. Another plus to them all being the same is not dealing with a bunch of those spanner wrench tools that for s...

Re: '36 Ford Pickup long deserved upgrades
It's officially restarted. They flat towed it from my brother's house a couple nights ago. Then the old 9" miraculously got uninstalled. The best part is that everything that's happened so far was done by our dad while he was in town earlier this week. I guess he gets bored when we're at work. http:...

Re: Fuck The Reaper
May be the last one for a while. My brother is having some personal complications that he really needs to focus on. I'm letting him off the hook for now. It's officially not going to be ready this summer. I have no need to be in a rush now so It's been moved to the corner while I tackle a couple oth...
Re: all in
I'm running on 2" blocks and don't feel it bottom out but I know that my bump stops keep the contact points nice and shiny. I suspect that 3" would be too far on mine without some minor surgery. I prefer not to use blocks (mine came with them) but it did leave me enough room to run a rear sway bar. ...

Re: Fuck The Reaper
As promised...some pics...finally. Dropped the cab and moved it in to the corner. http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk302/mistervelocity/Chariot/IMG_1320_zps6xxs3ynr.jpg There were some gaps on both sides where the crossmember meets the frame rails. I used some scrap round stock to fill the gap. Th...

Should work unless there is any issue with brake hose or Ebrake cables. Both of which would be easy fixes for a crafty guy like you. I assume you are using the 521 fuel tank mounted to the bed?

Re: Draker's Tacoma Thread
Heads up on that bearing, it's kinda like a Datsun where the backing plate floats in there. Bearing is an absolute whore to get off and on. Get some sucker shop to agree to RR the bearing if you carry in the axle. It'll be money well spent. Pulling the axle is no biggie. You're more than capable of ...

Re: Fuck The Reaper
Very cool! A bit of a coincidence to tie our projects together; When I got this truck it had a flathead in it. Not sure if it was the flathead that came in it but it was correct for the truck. PO had put a cam in it and shaved the heads. I later found out it had some crack repairs done to the block ...

You haven't repo'd that yet? Word on the street is that the paint isn't good enough for his school's parking lot.

Re: 1970 Datsun 521(A frank'n truck)
Wayno, are you a cyborg or something? I can't believe you made 2 parts trucks into a runner in such short time. Truly amazing. I have always yanked all the emissions shit off the 720s, every single one. I haven't had any issues with smelly in the cab from it. on anything else I have. Maybe cuz the 7...
