I see it on a trailer then read the description of what the car does and what you did to it. What's the chain of events that lead up to it being trailered home?

The chain of events is I'm too fucking poor to chance doing any damage of any kind to my motor so instead of driving it the 20+ miles home Walter's boss said "let's use my trailer and get your woman home because breaking down on the side of the road is worse, why chance it?"

This. I would blame your valve seals. It warms up and they shrink causing a tight fit (giggity). Let her set a few and they expand letting oil seep past.

That's my guess.

thinking valve guide seals also. If it is, don't worry, there very easy to fix as long as you got the time , patience's & the tool/s.

with the engine running, radiator cap off, can you see bubbles in the radiator and can you smell exhaust ?

you can also ( with engine running) pour a small amount of MM oil down your carb (while engine is running ) to see if that will free up the compression ring's. The engine will want to die so rev the engine up a little to keep it running.

Marvel Mystery oil works better when an engine sits for a little while. Depending on what the situation is.

Also want to mention, since you poured a 1/2 qt of MM oil in the tank, it's going to smoke for a while which is good for the upper end of your engine. So don't pour any MM oil down the carb for now. K ;)

what was the compression test showing, you never said except " the numbers were great."

Numbers were
#1. 170
#2. 172
#3. 170
#4. 172

I'm going to drive it to work tomorrow. Walter was scooting aroound local and he said the smoking was only for as couple minutes after start up. He too thinks valve guide seals. We really don't know honestly it's as bunch of could be.

When this started, had you added oil when it was cold?
Are you losing any radiator fluid, or is it staying full?

I had an issue a while back, when I added oil in the morning, which was just about everyday, and I started it, it would smoke up the whole area around my truck for several minutes, it was white smoke, but I knew what the issue was, the valve seals were shot, so when I added oil, a bunch got threw the seals, even after it was warmed up it did the same thing, just not quite as bad, submerging/adding a bunch of oil at once caused oil to get threw the seals, even when it was cold in the morning, it still smoked a little without adding oil, I suppose I could have installed new seals, but I decided to just build another engine, as that one had been abused by me for over 10 years, and it was just time, as I had a lot of blow-by.
I personally have never added new seals to a head without removing the head, but there are others that have, and it doesn't sound that hard to do if one knows all the steps.

That is what my work truck looked like and even worse when I needed valve stem seals, but that doesn't mean it is your issue, it just means mine looked like that also, but instead of fixing it by installing new seals, I built another engine and replaced it, I bought that engine used , and beat the shit out of it for 15 years, it was time.

Looks like steam (coolant) to me in that vid. I can't smell it from here though. Oils smoke hangs in the air differently that steam does. When you had the plugs out for the compression test did they all look the same? Did any of the pistons look cleaner than the rest?

This is true, the smoke coming out of my tailpipe floated all the way down the street when the wind was blowing.
Seems like she would have mentioned losing coolant by now if it was coolant.

If it just started out of no where. And compression is that good. I would suggest checking the pcv valve, maybe its done working? Oil pressure is alot higher on cold starts typically, maybe it could idk.. suck some shitty stuff up the pcv tube.

If not it just takes a second to check.

There appears to be a few good things suggested here to check, non of them costing much to do.
Your compression seems to be great! Good luck, I hope it's something easy and cheap to fix.
