That little white car is at datsunfreaks shop(actually both, the 1200 in shop, and the new pos mazda )

Fuck you. I love that Mazda.

Seriously, it's been a very good car. If Nissan made something this light/fun/cheap I'd own it. They don't.
Everything FWD is a pos to me,even the pos fwd geo I drive daily is a pos

They did hit the mpg (or close to it) with the b-210,did they have aftermarket air for them too?

I get that. I used to be the same way. Drove enough neutral FWD cars (and even some that like oversteer) to change my mind. I certainly wouldn't have a FWD old car, but for a new one it doesn't bother me too much.

It's fun to drive, has a warranty, and I don't have to work on it.

I will admit, I had one hell of a laugh when I opened this thread this morning. Shook some shit up it seems.

I really don't know how to go about saying what I have to, but I'm gonna give it a crack.

datsunfreak possesses this car. Fuck it-he owns the thing.
John did not purchase it. John did not offer any money after the fact. I never offered it up for sale to him.
I GAVE the car to him. No catch. No hidden agenda. Nothing. Pay for shipping and it's his. That's it!

Why? This is where it gets tricky and/or emotional for me.
Every one knows the story of me, my wife that doesn't work and our 3 kids. If you don't, you just heard it.
Well, the wife and I have been scrimping on damn near everything to save up to prepare to purchase a house.
We need out of our current living situation and are doing anything we can to drop and do what it takes to move in a moment's notice.

Caught up? Good. Here comes the hard part.

We know we're moving. We have no clue what we will be moving to. For that, we needed to prepare.
Storage unit purchased and filled. All bills paid for a month ahead. Not needed turned into gotten rid of. Blah, blah, blah.

The biggest concern was the 210. What if we move to an apartment? Picky landlord? Covenant neighborhood?
Money has been tight. Time has been tighter. Progress has been stagnant.
With all we have going there is no way it will be a runner by an unknown date and time. We would just be hauling a non-running box.

We played the pros and cons with this scenario a million different ways. No matter what we did every discussion ended only one way.
Every answer had to have an outcome that would not upset Adam. Any decision had to be a logical reasoning within that parameter.
No other answer-do what you can to keep Adam from disliking/disowning/despising you. Can you see the dilemma I created?
Couldn't sell it; ungrateful and greedy. Couldn't scrap it; we all know what could happen with that can of worms.
So then what do I do with it? Hm...

Adam---you are rad. You and I know what you did and the last thing I want to do is upset you in any way.
What you did, twice, meant the world to me. I can't even come close to making it up to you-but i will do what I can to keep this correct.

Now...about a month or so ago, after the wife I had decided what needed to be done, I sent John(datsunfreak) a PM on Ratsun.
The private message was titled "Awkward proposition" and it only said one thing: I want to give you my 210.

Why would I want to do that? I hadn't even told John why, and him and I have been talking pretty regularly this whole time.

When I decided the best path was to give to car to somebody who would be appreciative of it I really couldn't think of someone else.
datsunfreak was my plan A. Loves 210s, especially the coupes. Excellent forum member-helpful, courteous, playful.
DF puts in the work for Datsuns, no matter where it is or who it is for.
We've seen him finger-banging dimlight's cars. We've seen him provide insightful knowledge across both Ratsun and JNC.
DF has provided me with lots of knowledge without me ever asking or looking for it.
To me, there was no other choice.

I know there are questions and concerns on top of this, and I will address those if any one feels as though I need to. Or are just curious.

Say or think what you want. I am beyond comfortable with my decision. And I hope ya'll understand why I made that call.

John will do this 210 right. He's been itching to let the cat out of the bag. Let's see what he's got!!!

It is in good hands, and every one of us knows that. Which made it the easy call.

I have not talked to Adam in a very long time. I have the feeling he may already be upset with me.
That, in itself, makes the 210 a little hard to deal with at the same time.

If you've(any of you) been peeking on me over at Ratsun-you will see that the Datto Gods awarded me with my generosity in this matter.
(Which I'm sure will open a completely different line of questioning and concerns.)

Wheels are already in motion.

Picked up an L20b for it this week, as well as a 620 5spd trans. Would love to find a dogleg so I can keep the stock shifter location, but if I can't I'll use the 620 5spd and get crafty with the console.

What I want to do, is something like this...

What I will most likely do, is something like this (only yellow)...

And yes, I'm repainting it back to the original color. All over. :D

I hope so. Should have the engine on the stand for teardown this weekend. It has the crappy round port W head on it, so I need to at least swap that out for one of my spare A87 peanut heads. While th ehead is off, it'd be dumb not to go ahead and put rings and bearings in it, maybe get the head rebuilt.

I have a couple of the "good" 510 exhaust manifolds, so that will probably get the nod. Induction is up the air. SUs would be cool, but a 32/36 would be simpler. We shall see...
