Yes there are 2 engine stands... but one is not mine and needs to go back. The one that doesn't go back is going to have the KA sitting on it because that fucker is way heavier and way bigger than the A12. The A12 I can pickup and move around no problem and doesn't get in the way on the floor. The KA will get in the way and be a total bitch to move. So one engine just needs to go into the car....

Also been cleaning engine stuff up, I'm waiting right now for the ZEP+brake cleaner fumes to clear out of the garage before I go back. Some pics for now, I'll have more when I go back.

Pulled the thermostat and decided to add a bypass hole while I had it apart.

So what I want to do is use my nice rebuilt A14 carb on my A12. I have a A12 parts carb to pull from. So I know just swapping the jets should work. However, I know the secondary jet on the A12 is a bit undersized for power purposes so I'd like to bump it up a size or so to get a bit more out of the engine.

Supposedly the main jets in the 1200 are larger than those of the B210 and if running an A14 carb on a 1200 or A12 carb on a B210 that you should swap the jets.

However, when I look at the jet size chart on the 1200 wiki it looks like the higher number jets are in the B210 (102-107/145-150) not the 1200 (95-98/135-140). So are these weird and just reverse ordered and the higher number is the smaller jet? This just seems unlikely based on what I've heard on jet sizing used for other Hitachi carbs. So what is the deal here? Are the 1200 carb jets bigger or smaller than the B210 carb jets?

So I pulled some jets from A12 carb and A14 carb to compare. Grossly, other than the slightly difference in the top of the jet the B210 secondary looks much bigger, while the primary looks the same size or maybe smaller. I'm thinking of putting in the 1200 primary and B210 secondary.

Does this seem reasonable?

Was a rumor I always heard as well. The bigger the number the bigger the jet. Looks like you got it figured out.

Yep. Had to work a half day today, but got back and hit it hard starting around 2 or so.

Put the 1200 primary and the 1400 secondary on the A14 carb. Just as I was putting the 1200 secondary back on the parts carb I happened to notice it said 135, how I didn't see that before I don't know, it just had to catch the light just right. I already had the A14 carb put together so I didn't feel like taking it apart to check. Anyways the carb got installed on the engine (sorry no pics). Those little nuts on the carb base are still a bitch to reach even with the engine out of the car.

Then went to it with the carpet (lowes charcoal gray indoor/outdoor). Got carpet installed, couple of spots around the tunnel I would probably do a bit different next time. I also put in the heater box after cleaning a ton of shit out of it. Also cleaned the rear seat but that will go in later.

Afterwards I found the trim pieces and realized I should have brought the carpet all the way up the sides, I had looked at the B210 which uses a different style trim piece that covers the whole side. :fuu:

Somehow this ended up taking like 7 hours almost a full case of beer and a churchill. Go figure. :troll:

I want the same carpet for the B. Floor mats are cool, but carpet would be nice. HD sells same grey indoor/outdoor carpet. Mine gets a little water inside, so I'd be interested in something that wouldn't mold/musty up.

So that radiator you go, that was out of a sentra yeah? I will scroll back and re-read. But isn't the B210 bigger in that area or no?

I would have cut it a bit different where the transmission tunnel meets the firewall and brought the sides up a bit more. I also did it all as one piece and it would have been much easier to do it as 2 pieces and have an over lay on the trans tunnel but two separate pieces on the floor.

The carpet I used was an indoor/outdoor stuff from Lowes for 18$, I would have preferred black but they only had charcoal. Basically the same material as used in auto carpet. Should be nicely water/mold resistant as it is rated as an outdoor carpet. I still had a big piece left when I was done.

The rad fits 1995-1997 NISSAN 200SX and 1992-1999 SENTRA L4 2.0 AUTO A/T. $47.98 with free shipping.

The B210 might be a bit bigger but it fits the 1200 nicely so should fit in the B210 no problem. The only thing that might intrude would be the battery/battery tray. If I have a chance I'll hold it up to the B210 engine bay tomorrow and snap some pics.

Thanks man! That'd be a help. Did you have the dimensions listed in the post? Exact measurement top to bottom and side to side?

Battery tray may be a problem. I had my hood open and was looking at it yesterday or sunday running ideas thru my head. It did look like the tray (or maybe just my big ass battery) was hanging over a bit. Since I switched the system over to IR alternator and removed the metal bracket that held the voltage regulator and choke relay, I may be able to put the battery in sideways. Could also build a battery box and store it in the hatch area I supposed, too. I've been wanting to make a spare tire delete plate anyways.

Looks like the battery sideways may work, it overlaps my battery but that is a pretty big marine deep cycle anyways.
I'm holding this as close to where it would sit between the framerails as I can eyeball it.

I think it may fit, but my worry is the top of the tank for filling it up would be to tall, or even the bottom plastics getting in the way. I'll see if I can find a piece of carboard about 18x26-1/4 if thats right and test fit it. Thanks man!

It fits the 1200 no problem, I really can't see it not fitting a B210. I'm going to drill holes in the lip for the bottom posts and line it with two pieces of different sized rubber to provide a cushion (one small piece to sit in the hole, and a large flat washer to straddle the lip to tank bottom outside the hole, think T shaped), this should allow the bottom to sit nearly flat on the front cowl lip. The 18 height still seems a bit tall, I was getting only 16 5/8 from the top of the filler to the bottom of the tank not counting the bottom posts. If you need any other pics or measurements let me know.

Just some minor stuff today. Got the coil changed over for the electronic distributor (used my old one from before I switched over to the Z coil) I'll bolt it on when the paint for the bracket fully dries.

Also removed the external regulator for the alt. and added the wires to the plug to make it work.

Also tried to hook up the e-brake. Got under the car and realized the cable is broken off where it exits the tube attached to the differential. :fuu:

I'm not even sure how to fix that though. I'll take it apart later, but I wasn't feeling like staying under there and fighting it too much tonight. Also didn't help I found a bunch of black widows living on the back of the brake drum.

Now with seatbelts, brand new even not 40 years old :D .
Also if anyone is curious the seatbelt bolt is a 7/16-20. Kinda wish I had a 72' so I would have shoulder belts though. May need to retrofit that in someday. Also test fit a seat in to make sure the belt fit, no problem at all.

Paint dried and got the coil fully installed, still will need to cleanup the wiring but that is going to wait until the engine is in.

Ended up changing out the distributor for a 310 one, I noticed the vac. advance bearings were shot on the old one.

I've been cleaning up and repainting the cowl vent metal pieces. Sort of tempted to see if I can talk our guy at work into laser cutting me some new ones, not sure how much that would cost though.

Where did you get the seatbelts? I was looking around on Ebay for some 3 point ones and found some decent ones cheap, I dig the old school ones, where its a latch type like in a helicopter or something (same as the early 510s)

The metal cowls were hit with rust reformer, then rusty metal primer, then black paint. They're pretty shot some I'm not going for pretty or body color. I figure I'll stop the rust and they won't really show with black.

The seatbelts were from a local independent speedshop/auto store called Tognotti's a couple of miles from my house. Huge store (30,000sqf) and huge selection mostly caters to hot rods and american cars. Only place in town with fuel cells, por15, race fuel and other fluids, race seats, air ride stuff, car flame throwers, and ammo under one roof. Not much import stuff though and their website blows for usability (http://tognottisautoworld.com). Sort of hit and miss on prices, usually they run a bit expensive but every once in a while I'll get a good deal. The seatbelts were 14$ a piece and they had several colors available. They also had 3 point, airplane clasp seatbelt style (~$30) retractable (~59$) and a some race harnesses.
