Pickup a 6lbs flywheel (about 1/3 of the cost from what Bprojects charges!)for my A13 engine project, need the block bored to take a set of forged 74mm dome topped pistons that I found 5 years ago, p&p H89 cylinder head, I got from Red Banner and dual Hatashi 38mm SU's and gx exhaust manifold. Getting down to have the machine shop to it's thing-which is always expensive, maybe because it leaves the pocket all at once where gathering parts over time it's not as noticeable?? Anyway I am going to see for myself what this small bore engine will do in Smurf!

That's awesome Doug I'm excited to see it done as well! You should get a 1300 valve cover like what they are rockin over in Japan in their race cars!

Any feedback on the new flywheel ?
Where did you find it?
Did you stay with the stock clutch?

This weekend I drove a Datsun 1200 sedan, for 3 runs at Packwood autoX, this was it's first time out with an 6.5lbs flywheel, OMG! Having driven Smurf on the same course, the acceleration of the sedan was so quick that I was up to 6,000 rpm in 2nd where I was just shifting into 2nd in Smurf- unreal!. De-acceleration on the tight 180ty's and down shifting into 2nd from third, the engine slowed so fast, braking, back on the gas the rev's coming up so fast that it was close to "stab the throttle and hold on", I GOT to do this! And yes I have all the parts, but the front strut cartridges- that I want to lower the front of Smurf.
I ran my new 888"s on Smurf! Toyo 225/45-13's
