1979 kc named Lulu

#1

Post by datmo » Sun Feb 23, 2014 7:24 pm

So i bought this bad girl today.
Paid a little too much.
Needs a bit of work but I'm loving it for now.
I only got one picture surprisingly.

I need new spark plugs, something might be up with my right front wheel bearing. I need new window squegees, Steering wheel plastic bezel. Glove box only doesn't seem to close and stay closed. Pretty sure it's the wrong one? A bit of small rust spots.

My plans are to either keep it this blue and shine it out, or orange.
I'll put some flares, might paint the hood black.

It's my dd so just aesthetics.
maybe lower a little.

A little background info.
it has 135k. l20b 4 spd. new rotors and brakes from the po but I think he forgot to bleed his brakes. They suck for now.
Overall, solid car. Good/fun daily.

Here's the one pic i got, many more to come next weekend.

yeah 74 turned out to be shit. haha.
I'll bleed the brakes and see how it works out, if not well, then dis's it is.

more than likely it's a ball joint.

my exhaust is also hitting the chassis so I'm go under next weekend and see what's missing to keep it still.
love this thing.

Does it still have the L20B?

Shots of motor?
Wondering if someone put the earlier exhaust on it-that's why it is hitting the floor. Too short.

This. Once you get vagina... You gotta have more. Datsun is on the same level, and has same addiction additives.

yeah man. 78 and 79 has disk brakes. 78 had a remote box matchbox style dizzy, 79 had regular matchbox (or should, anyways...)

Cool truck for sure. Daily that son of a bitch. If you lower the front, be sure and get an alignment. it throws the tow off and will eat your tires (my 320 dollar mistake)

also that thing is damn straight and clean. nice seats dude! is that a crack free dash??!?! Fuck lol nice score for sure man. A nice interior sure does wonders for using it as a daily. love me some nice interior.

I'm gonna get up early sat morning and sunday to do as much as i can.
I'm gonna try to bang out the dents first since it'll be quicker than engine obstacles.

it's like the carb is mistuned.

just depressing.

So the truck was rear ended around a week or so ago butsince, I have banged the majority of the dents out and it looks half decent.
It also broke down but I replaced a lot of lines, painted some parts and cleaned up a lot.
I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

Looks like I'll be picking up some 3inch blocks from oreileys next weekend then!
I do have one thing though.

The torsion bars, I did't find much info but form a few threads i read, it's literally that to lower the car.
like nothing is bought?

few things. What rims are these because I want some zg flares and these look like they'd be wide enough to fit the stance.
Image

and what lips are these?
really wanting a lip for the 620.

Also some updates.
Painted my bed with black bed line, came out really nice.
wrapped my steering column bezel or plastic in black vinyl.

Planning to put my dash cap on soon, trying to make a shift knob out of a bike handle bar
new steering wheel and nrg short hub should be coming this week.

The truck has a sound like the exhaust is rumbling around so I'll get that fixed asap.
a rumbling like hitting shit, not the nice beefy actual exhaust sound.

I'm really excited for the exterior of this car since it's my daily.
It will be spray canned but I will put a ton of effort of wet sanding to make this thing nice.

please tell me what those damn lips are. lol

Those wheels will look good on there. I'm not sure about those lips but the bottom truck is Radims on ratsun. This is Metalmonkeys truck with an s-10 lip.

I wouldn't know where to pick that up. lol.
I'm too lazy to go to pick n pull and potentially buy one that's not in goo condition.

i really like those two lips i posted. if not, mk1 lip it is.
