Drove the bushings through to the inside of the distributor ..... worked like a charm.
Trick was (for this one , and manual tools) to use a small hammer ... correct sized deep socket ..... hammer it with many small FAST strokes , and vibrate the suckers out.

Breaker plate , and it's in good shape :)
Image059 by 71240z, on Flickr

Looking at the three cup shapes (raised ovals) ... in which encase the steel balls ... as an assembly in whole it's in great shape.....not any ridge or "digging" wear the balls advance.

Excellent point ! ... I had kinda thought so as well , and the bushing/shaft looks like it had a bit more dirt in there ?
Grease was somewhat dried , but all seemed well that way.
I'm not really sure or don't really know though :) .
The reluctor and the stator contacted each-other where they shouldn't have though , and stop the car it was in  (240,000 miles ?)
I tried to re-adjust the stator (very little cracking on the insulation mostly at the mounting points) , and switch to another reluctor(used) with no dice.

I think it was a switched junkyard distributor before I got the car (this one is).

Shit.......... I haven't measured the shaft. Will do that tonight

This!
Just saw this.

Thanks Jorge and Lou.
She's next up for the engine/turbo to get wrapped up to go in once I get the Volvo , and probably my dads clutch , brakes , u-joints , etc etc done for him.
At this point there might be some other cars , houses , and other things needed to get done while the weather is treating us well.
I've been looking forward to being able to drive her.
Geese .... I'm slow :|

Jorge hope you're enjoying the 810 man , and same for her treating you well. She's def a beaut.
Lou same goes out to you except your whole.. collection man.... gorgeous and too cool...

Heads 95% together , and non-adjusted. (will put some more lube on soon)

Image100_2571 by 71240z, on Flickr

Can put the long-block together now.
Have to finish rebuilding the turbo , and should be all set to go back in after hopefully.
Time permitted though.

I can't keep track of my own shit , so not sure if I put this in the right thread or not

As long as you're making progress put updates wherever you want.
When the only tool you have is a hammer every problem starts to look like a hippy.
