I used to think the same. I think they should stay lumped together now though.

Never met al.... Seems like a good guy.. Can't/won't judge him since I haven't met him... I'm not upset about there being a second event. I think their ideas for events are cool. I just wish they wouldn't do it around canby. I really think thats hurting both shows. Meh, oh well. Said what I had to, I'm done with it....

This is exactly the point, it's not old news, he, not the Datslocos members picked this date, he is still fucking with Canby.

There was a meet that used to happen in Vancouver/Hazel dell at an auto shop the middle of May near mothers day, it would draw more than a hundred cars/trucks when the weather was good, but the guy closed the shop and the meet/show was discontinued, others tried setting up something to replace it and it actually drew quite a crowd the first time, but it was a one hit wonder and everyone lost interest because it didn't have a home/place to be held every year, now this left a hole/spot open at the start of the season that seemed to draw a lot of Datsun owners in the past, is Al taking advantage of this hole in the middle of May, NO, he is still fucking with Canby.

Al is not interested in starting his own meet that is a meet separate from other meets for Datsun owners, he just wants to make the Canby show fail, that is the reason for his meet, he can claim it is a Datslocos meet, but the Datslocos members are not picking the dates as a group, Al is picking these dates and the Datslocos members have to deal with all the flack that comes with Als agenda.
There is plenty of time for Al to change the date to May, July, or September, but he is not going to do that because that will not accommodate his end goal, to make Canby fail, instead he has decided to make folks choose, to divide the community which he has succeeded very well in doing, which goes against everything that Datslocos is supposed to be, which is to bring the Datsun community together.

What is bullshit is doing this to the Datsun community, that is the only bullshit going on here, thankyou Al, I hope you are getting all the attention you are searching for.

Yea I remember the meet at Jeremy's shop. That was awesome! Full parking lot. Got the local businesses to give stuff away at raffle. I won a creeper!

I read that the "Rats with Dats" show has been moved to July, waiting to see if it is true.

I honestly don't believe Al, or anyone else scheduled our Datslocos Oregon show "Rat's with Dats " purposely ,in order to spite Datsuns NW, & the Canby show. I know there are some of you that disagree with me, many of whom I respect, & I am not going to convince those people otherwise. Maybe time will change thier minds. Rat's with Dats 2017 will be held in July. There will be details posted once they are firmed up,but the dates will not be in conflict with Canby, or Blue Lake, or Shasta, assuming they actually have the Shasta show, or Datsuns around Bend .
Having said that, I ask you to keep in mind that Steven was new to running the Canby show, as well as new to being President of Datsuns NW. I would ask that you give him a break. Give him the chance to fix what didn't work, while also trying to freshen up the same old show, that Canby had been for many years. A little change can be a good thing. As for the pricing of this year's Canby show, while it may seem a little unfair, I would say that it had been unfair to those that had entered thier vehicles in the show up until now. It's fair to spread the costs around more evenly, but apparently there is a little bit of fine tuning in order. At any rate, at this point, if The Canby show has difficulty in the future, it will not be the fault of Datslocos Oregon, or our events.
