like this quick manifold cleaning:

Started with a cut-off wheel, to remove any unnecessary tabs and mounts:

Smoothed out all the casting marks with a grinding pad ... then 80 grit sandpaper:

I wiped on Mother's aluminum polish ... and then used 120 - 220 - 320 - 400 grit wet sand sandpaper, into the wet polish:

then finished off with 0000 super fine steel wool and polish:

That's what I need to do to my wagon. Looks nice. Mine has minimal rust but it is starting from the bottom like most of the maximas. I filled the bumper and rear panel with pb blaster a while ago to slow some surface rust down. I need to get it on a lift and strip and paint the undercarriage like that.

Yep, I need some under carriage paint/rubberized coating. Looking at it, it's like a house that's been smoked in for 30 years, yellow and brown splotches :O=

I don't think I will EVER do that again on any car ... removing all the undercoating was way too much work. Maybe with a lift or dry ice, but never with a grinding pad. The melted tar starts to smoke and it gets everywhere. Next time I would just grind down any obvious rust and paint those spots.
