Well the b210 is running stronger than ever with the new alt, must be getting better spark. I could have an issue on one side of the light, I'll have to trace it down

So new update, seat belts!! I ordered some new universal ones off eBay and the look great. Also dug out a momo wheel I might swap on after I find an adapter... currently has a 2g civic one haha. Also fixed the wires further to the point where the headlights function better and all wires now run from the harness with no sketchy crossovers that some po added along the way. But for the life of me I can't figure out why my alternator won't charge... everything tests just fine. I have power everywhere I should and grounds seen the test ok too. I hate wires

Might just be a bad alternator.

It's brand new, I don't think it would be bad right out of the box. Plus I wasn't charging before, I figured the old one or regulator was toast

I've had bad ones right out of the box. Not saying for sure that's what your deal is, just saying it's possible.

I've checked everything that I know or can find. I'm headed to the parts store tomorrow to test the alt

When they test it see if you can figure out what the jumpers on the machine get hooked to. If it tests good that might help you double check the wiring on your car.

I already read the wiring diagrams and traced the wires and checked them all down the line with a multi meter. Everything checked out after my swap except the alt. The alt tested bad and a new one is coming tomorrow. For now I swapped to an alt from a 210 I got from izzo a couple weeks ago. Now I'm charging and running great. I also dug out volt and oil gauges I pulled from my old crx I'm going to use in the Datsun.

Thanks dude, I'm glad I had the ability to buy this car from you. I feel really lucky to be starting on such an awesome build, I love nwd and the cool people involved. This build will make my 620 look like Childs play hahah

That is the future for a lot of Datsuns, parts from other vehicles that have aftermarket support.

Yep, hopefully soon the aftermarket will catch up more. But there's still plenty of parts out there.... just not always the prices I'd like to pay haha

Got a new in box vintage stereo to fit the dash. Next line level converters and amplified speakers. It's crazy how something from my childhood can be so far out of date.

I'm happy wit it, the old 6x9s sound really good with it already. It was actually difficult to find a nice steroid without spending a ton

Your dash thanks you for not cutting it.

No reason to cut, there's plenty of ways to get good sound from an old deck, plus it kinda cool that it's still fresh out of the box
