I got my truck awhile ago as a half running basket case.

This is of the day I got it lol

After that it got the fenders painted temporarily, the tailgate cut open and made functional, a new bench seat and door panels stained black, a closed chamber head, su's, and lowered on a set of staggered slotted mags

As it sits today

Lost more in store for the future as well

Thanks guys lol good to see soo many members posting on a regular basis too

Anyways I bought eagle Adams first 620 after the Honda chick hit it. The cab and front end are going to become the front half of my truck. This weekend I worked on tearing it down and degreasing to start getting ready for primer. I removed the fenders and bumper and then took the crunched bed off too. The next step will be Power wash the bottom and undercoat it. Then remove surface rust and glass and get some primer layed down

Bare front lol

Yep lol the cab is straight and por 15ed. My old cab hides allot more then just rust under the surface... My old cab probably isn't even square anymore. The power washer broke yesterday so problgress might be at a stand still till it's replaced so I can do undercoating

Eh I just wanna power wash all the dirt off the underside. I wanna put new undercoating where the old stuff came off. They used some sort of tar or something that's held up surprisingly well.

Well today was another day of progress lol I have Fridays off since I work 10's all week. Anyways haha the windows and doors are off! As well as the rest of the interior. I also spent some time with a wire wheel removing the little surface rust that was on the cab. The battery tray was pretty pitted so I cleaned it up pretty good and soaked what I couldn't reach in rust converter. Haha for some overkill I'll prolly por15 it too. I hope to have it in primer by the end of next weekend. Haha giving myself a realistic goal since I wanna undercoat and work out all the dings before primer

All stripped!

It will be reborn without a battery under the hood! Haha I relocated the battery to under the bed in perpetration for a future hid projector upgrade. I put it on the drivers side because on a long bed the gas tank literally goes all the way to the back of the cab. I also used 4 gauge wire to avoid power draw problems too.

My custom bracket drilled and tapped to the frame
Image

It's a little visable but not too bad (looks crooked cause it follows the frame)

From a distance you have to know where to look to spot it

I dig it man. Looks dope.

Keep practicing on welding! Are you using a grinder to make your cuts? Can't tell if so. Either way, with as much little stuff like this you do, a chop saw or a band saw would be a well used tool at your house
