Thanks, man. I checked yours out a couple times too. Looks even better in person than in your build thread. Seats looked great! We could have pretty easily walked right past each other. I was only there for a couple hours but wasn't stationary much.

Thanks!

I was the idiot walking around with a laptop and webcam. Doing the youtube live stream of the show. I spent most of my time at the Canby truck booth too.

I was the guy who said, "Nice wheels!" ... as you drove out of the gates, on Saturday. And I probably had a big straw hat, with a camera on my face, too ..

This wagon is so nice. I love all the details, especially the roof rack fairing and the color of the wheels:

I too love the look of it. Those wheels are spot on. And I like the fact that the hatch is still "patina'd"

I don't remember if I mentioned it in the thread but I was talking to some guys at Canby who had asked about the wheels. They were asking about how well they balanced out. Well, the bare wheels are pretty true and balanced out within about 1/2oz IIRC. Originally I had planned to weld balance weight inside the rims to get them zeroed before I painted them and mounted tires but they were so close I didn't bother. Anyway, when I mounted the tires one of them had a bit of a hop to it -- the tire, not the rim. I didn't have time to mess with it as it was closing time on Friday so I just ran them. On the way to Canby I could definitely feel it right at freeway cruise speed. So before I left work on Friday I dismounted and rotated it 180* on the rim then remounted it. Also rebalanced all 4 tires. Seems to be smooth now.

Forgot to mention; Boss has one of these http://www.beugler.com/ . Hoping to try it out in the attempt to redline the tires.
Haven't been hunting too hard for caps lately. The bare wheel look is growing on me.

I was thinking about redline tires at one point. Looking into them I learned the real ones aren't that great of a tire, plus they're overpriced. Whitewalls are a little better, so I looked into painting the whitewall with red tire paint ...

... I never did it, but the reviews online make this sound like it's easy enough and it holds up well.

That's pretty much the plan with the Beugler. Get the sidewalls super clean, load up with pinstripe paint, let 'em roll. If it doesn't work I can always remove it.

The wagon is offroad approved. Drove it out to Salmonberry yesterday to do some target shooting with my daughter. It's absolutely filthy but made it out and back. Have a RockAuto box full of frontend parts waiting for install. Pics when it happens.

Had my first Rockauto hiccup with this order. Can't necessarily blame them though. I double and triple checked the order. First to see if I screwed it up, and second to see if they did. Nope, all the part numbers on the boxes were correct. They gave me exactly what I asked for. Problem was that one of the outer ends was misboxed so I had 2 rights and no left. Also one of the inner ends had a smaller diameter pin that goes through the center link. All the other dimensions were identical. Rather than waste a bunch of time trying to exchange $16 worth of parts, I just got the replacements locally. Anyway, it's all finally back together and I aligned it yesterday.
