Very cool.

Got some work done. I kinda made a complete oversight... and I knew it pretty early on. I did think of way to assemble this while keeping all the screws hidden...

Anyways, everything is screwed together, except for the back... because Im not sure how I want to seal it...

Little Rubber Feet, Check:

First coat of stain. I wish MinWax had a small can of their True Black stain at Home Depot. I would have mixed the True Black with their Ebony to make a super dark brown color... Anways this is... I dont know costs $1 more than MinWax blah blah.

Fucking stain. I knew I shouldnt have bought that brand. It doesnt dry, and it doesnt act like a stain. Its more like a gel. Its thick, and way too hard to see the grain in the wood. Look online and see a number of people say the same thing about that particular color...

Gotta sand it down...

FYI, the stain I had issues with was from Verathane (Rustoleum brand). Just was too thick and didnt penetrate.

I switched to Minwax, and you can tell, first coat went in deep. I just got done with the second coat, and its way more even. Now for two coats of clear (Satin).

This is 5 minutes after I removed my gloves. Looks so much better. I can actually see the grain!

Um. I got it together. RIght channel working great. Left channel tweeter was half as loud... I still need to make the rear panel, and find an actual power supply for it.

Also, I really should have taken some pictures, but its spring time, which means mountain biking! Went for a first ride and decided it was time to upgrade. Found a new fork on Craigslist, a Rock Shox Sektor 140mm SoloAir. Problem was it was 60mm taller than my current fork. So I took it apart and made a spacer at work to drop it 40mm. I also rebuilt it with all new grease and O-rings. The bike rides sooo much better. I also got new hand grips, they definitely feel nice and since they lock on I no longer have grips falling off. This most recent ride I did my hands and lower back hurt, and I realized I was leaning too far forward on the bike. SO I have on order a new Stem to bring the handlebars back. Should bring them back 60mm, also being so close to the steerer tube, should give much better handling.

And with the new fork came a new problem. Last summer? maybe it was two summers ago... I killed the front hub on my bike. It was a crappy hub, so Upgrade time. I built the wheel myself, and Future proofed it. Rim is capable of going Tubeless, and the Hub uses a 15mm through axle. I had made a simple Stainless spacer to go from a 9mm axle to a 15mm axle to make it compatible with my now old fork. But now I do have a 15mm axle on my bike courtesy of the new fork, I can no longer put my bike on the roof rack (fork mount). So Now Im currently making an adapter to mount it on my roof again. Putting a dirty bike in a car isnt exactly fun.

Bleh, Ill get pictures tomorrow in the sun.

Got the new stem in for my Mountain bike. I can already tell its better. Just sitting on the bike I dont hurt as much. Should be a lot nicer to handle as well now.

It's that time again. Front brakes at 79,960. Don't let friends buy pre 2012 journeys. I'm trying to remember if this is the second or third front brake job.

Don't let friends buy Dodges. I change my father-in-laws brakes about every year and a half. He's on his 3rd or 4th engine. 2002 model Ram

Yes, Jess, I know you have a Neon.

My Neon is immune to most Chrysler woes. Except for lack of resale value. But, yes, Chrysler products are notoriously hard on brakes.

Finally got around to fixing the speaker issue. These things are LOUD. Way overkill for a desktop. The bass is a tad muddy, but not bad considering how much bass their really is and the range the little speakers are playing. Need to finish up the rear panel, and do a wire tuck. Also get the batteries installed...
