Forgot to post the "after" shots of the engine bay.

Overall I'm really happy with the way the car runs and drives. The next couple things I address will probably be to replace the noisy AC compressor and convert to R134. I'd also like to upgrade the speakers. I need to run it through DEQ in December. After that I plan to upgrade to dual exhaust and a better muffler. Another winter project will be to try some SEM interior paint to renew some sun faded panels. Someday in the distant future I'd love to build an Olds 403 for it.

Went to take it though DEQ testing (failed BTW) and noticed what may be the verrry beginning of a light rod knock. Hopefully I'm just being paranoid. That got me thinking. Is it time to start looking for that 403 I've been wanting?

I'd totally rock this car around as is.

I've driven one once, did like! Comfy. Hopefully its not a rod knock, but if it is. Total sleeper.

Passed DEQ today and didn't hear the noise that I was thinking might be a rod knock. Might have a line on a good 403 just cuz.

Update-ish...
I've been trying to focus on another project over the last few months. Part of my strategy is to keep this parked so I don't get distracted with all the little things I want to do. It really doesn't need anything at this point. Since I was at the yard for 1/2-off sale last weekend I broke down and snagged a fuel door from a 3rd gen Camaro. It's a straight bolt-on replacement with the advantage of staying in the down position. Helps keep the pump monkeys from messing up my paint while they're trying to figure out how to hold the stock one down

thats a wise upgrade. I like things like that which just make ordinary things on the car easier to operate, or in a more normal fashion.

I'm on the home stretch with the '35 chassis and looking ahead to the next project to focus on. Look for an update in the next few weeks.

The mailman brought me some shiny stuff. G-Force crossmember and frame extension to replace the wonky modified original TH200 unit I've been running, a braced rear diff cover to help out my puny 7.5" rearend, and an actual torque converter lockup kit so I don't have to use the toggle switch anymore.
