The Site Update and other things 4/17/16

#1

Post by Laecaon » Sun Apr 17, 2016 11:25 am

Recently I found some edited code on the forum. I fixed that, but now we are having other issues.

So we are in the process of backing up, and updating the forum.

We are updating to a whole new revision of the software (3.0.12 -> 3.1.9)

This will change a few things on the forum.

Hopefully will be back up soon.

The theme is pretty horrid. I just have been focusing more on functionality than color.

Haha. Theme isn't so bad. Better put together than before. Easier to navigate. Drop down menus. Easier to get where we need to be. I don't want to add anymore styles. As when extensions / mods become available and such it's rather a pain in the ass to get them to work across all the styles. I will be modifying black theme a little bit here soon. The black style that is currently in use has files I can change to make the blue stuff either red or green.

What you are explain is nice is just what the new prosilver does. The new board software is supposed to be way more forgiving as far as themes go and the functionality of everything.

It's not just the color, it's the look and feel. Indy nailed it on the head.

Negative on that, maybe they are supported by the board but aren't on prosilver theme, just tried it out.

the default pro silver theme, other themes/styles may have what the black does /// just the way the black is setup is better / imo. There's a lot more buttons and such and drop down menu's vs the prosilver, easier to get around / navigate, get to what I want easier.

Like i said, am sure the board supports it. Just the stock theme sucks the D for navigation/buttons, getting around. It's nice that they made it so extensions automatically go into all the themes now. Before it was such a cluster fuck. I looked around, there's a few more out there that look decent. Since 3.1.x has been out a little while now there's actually a bit of a selection of themse that will work with the board. go take a gander around when you get a chance.

I have uploaded a new theme, which is a light theme, and matches the dark theme in function.

We wont be supporting ProSilver as a theme.

Chat is working. Only on the main page, and in a new tab. There are settings in your control panel.

Updating the PHP version on the server. There may be a moment of down time (a few minutes?). Im not sure. Shouldnt cause any other problems.
