My First Dime, (Dirt Track Dime Build)

#1

Post by GreaseMonky » Sun Jul 07, 2013 7:34 pm

So Finally getting around to start a thread for this.. I bought this dime and this was my very first dime, I had wanted one for about 13-15 years atleast with the only intentions of building it into a track car. To replace my 610 race car that had been a race car for the past 18 years before I got it... and was in poor shape but held its own on the track. That 610 got me 2 rookie of the year, at 2 different tracks, 2 2nd overall in points for the season, at 2 tracks, and one 3rd overall for the season. Along with 3 trophy dash wins, and 2 main wins along with several heat wins. And lots of top 3 finishes... not bad for a complete under dog at the track, I was under powered and over weight by a lot, not to mention 40+ year technology compared to my competition. here is a pic of it in action

Image

And when I first brought it home

Anyways back to my 510 these first picks were taking Jan 3 2012

These pics where all taking the night I picked it up, Banner went with me up to Lacy WA to pick it up and help me load it.

Complaining :fuu: the whole way back about all the rear glass being duct taped in.

More pics to follow

So these next pics where a few days later when I got around to cleaning it out and checking it all out... it had some neat things, and some outdated go fast suspension stuff, such as coilovers with I think Volvo/porche calipers, ADJ LCA, rear cross member Adj, rear swaybar, weight jacks in the rear, brake bias, and some basic cage work, but not enough to meet the rules where I race... anyways enough of the chit chat, and on to the pics

I only haz the white one now which is my Daughters, the blue and white one was for my son, but he decided he wanted a 620, so I sold that one to Dave, and got him a 620

The inner control arm,has another mod done to it(besides the plenum mod to control arm brackets, that mount to k-member)
Has spherical rod end, also looks like some wild adjustment(looking at the adjuster bolt)

Yeah on the 1200. I'd have to see them closer. But they look like mine. If so, they are Appliance Turbovec rims...
