Well I hate to write this and the whole point for me was to work on my own car but because the lack of tools and garage space it went to the mechanic at least some progress is getting done. I don't like the feeling of someone else touching my car but sometimes you gotta set those feelings aside and just suck it up for the better. The head will be taken to the machine shop to verify it isn't cracked or warped but on the good side it will look like new once it's back. I'm also thinking of spoiling the car a little so I'm waiting on the tax return. I'm thinking of buying the Kameari 2400 valve cover which is like $550-900 bucks seems way too pricey but shit I been wanting one for many years I think it might be they time lol. Far as everything else I also have a guy willing to sell me a RB25 with everything and extra goodies like tomei cams, top mount turbo, Freddy intake manifold, gt35r, Nistune it made 330hp at 6psi all this for $4k but I doubt I'll buy it way out of my budget plus I wanna drive my car to Canby.

Also saw a group buy for these bad ass manifolds for the L-6 would be the best for force induction but heck the engine bay would look sexy as hell with of these. Group buy consist of 10 people this is the second run and I'm really thinking about getting one. There $650 group buy would put you at $325 and you have to send in your core to get started then pay off the rest once there done seems like a deal as there isn't many intake manifolds to chose from. There is also a way to pick your throttle body stock, 240sx 60mm TB, or Q45 90mm TB.

Nothing wrong with sending it out to be built. I'm gonna do that as well. Not saying I can't do it myself, I'm certain I could, but I'd likely screw something up. And as slow as I am & as slow as money comes in, the damn thing would probably rust before I got it finished. The trick is knowing your limitations and not exceeding them. I know I could build my engine but the peace of mind of it being done absolutely right in a timely manner is more important.

It's o.k. I have another block and 2 heads for me to do later.

Yeah man I just don't have the tools and as much experience with all that would have been better to have someone help me but the person that does know is always busy so it sucks.

Taking pics tomorrow stupid rain and strong winds won't let me do much today I really need to get one of those custom covers to work on my car anyway got the car back runs good but not as good as expected I'll have to take it back or look to see if the plugs are gapped right and timing was done right. The car bogged twice before going into the freeway and power didn't seem all there it was smooth and gets up to speed fine just doesn't have the power it did.

Seems like something is up for sure. You should have more power than before. Probably a simple timing issue.

Yeah that always seems to be the problem with most mechanics that don't work on datsuns as much even though they know and worked on them in the past. Could have been they timed it like a 280z or 280zx either way ima get a second opinion from my buddy john from nissan.

Also talked to my buddy john from Nissan he said it is definitely odd why it would be running the way it was and not starting up at the turn of the key. He said it could most probably be the timing was done wrong, he said it's pretty simple. From what he also said on the timing chain you count 43 dots from top to bottom on the side where the distributor is if the old chain down the the markings.

Looks like I have another problem, so I had to checkout my passenger light last night because it want to turn on. I disconnected the battery like I always would checked the wiring for the light nothing seemed disconnected or burnt do maybe the bulb is done for. I connect everything back turn the knob to see if the lights work and nothing comes on at all, weird I turned the key to start the car and it did nothing no interior lights came on no sound at all? I disconnected the battery once again checked all my fusible links and fuses even, all the cable wires look to be in place I'm puzzled?

810 is running once again better and strong just need to time it right it's a little off and should be good man I'm ready to just drive her around. I need to also get my passenger side HID fixed doesn't want to work maybe my ballast or bulb went bad. Anyway I found some Datsun 200B bumpers which is the same car with slight difference and the obvious shorter front end, the bumpers are smaller and look a lot classier than the big bulky ones. Also found Addco front & rear sway bars which will be a nice touch to the handling, found the air dam I'm gonna be putting on as the one on the avatar. Hope to soon have more progress.

swap bulbs to check for bulb/ballast.

I highly recommend theretrofitsource.com for all you HID needs. They are very good, and decent priced. Good products.

Looks like my fun is over for a little while, I hit a dodge ram on the off ramp of the freeway at a yield it's was most of my fault but the guy was already going when he suddenly stopped and my brakes weren't responsive enough to stop quick. It's really not to bad but I'll have to scour a good hood, front passenger fender and light bezel :(. Anyone know of a good hood and front passenger fender for the 810.
