Re: Leak from headgasket
Got out there and actually changed the intake/exhaust gasket yesterday. No more leaking or exhaust tick!!!! After 2+ hours previously trying to get bolts on the the exhaust manifold was dreading taking off the exhaust and carb to do it again. What I ended up doing was putting the nuts on the top of ...

Re: Leak from headgasket
Thats pretty damn fast!
I've been out there messing around with it for the last few hours. There were two bolts missing on the exhaust manifold. It took me two hours to get one, and have been working on the second for an hour.

Re: Leak from headgasket
Good deal. I already ordered one of those today. Figured at the VERY least the exhaust was coming off anyway. Going to make sure the bolts are snug tomorrow and see what happens. Glad I asked on here first. Was getting ready to tackle a head gasket!

Re: Leak from headgasket
Perhaps this is a combination of two problems then? A leak at the exhaust manifold gasket (which is audible), and at the intake with anti freeze leaking down the side of the block?

Re: Leak from headgasket
Izzo... that sounds a lot like the magic bullet that killed Kennedy:) I'm positive it's leaking from the driver side head gasket area. I'm 100% sure it is NOT oil. It is Anti freeze. Mike it's a stock exhaust manifold, and there is a "ticking" coming from the exhaust manifold. With the truck running ...

Re: Leak from headgasket
I was just looking into the heli-coil kit, and the possibility of doing it myself. Doesn't sound too difficult, just time consuming. Thanks for the warning... yeah it would make sense to tape EVERYTHING off aside from the work area.

Re: Leak from headgasket
Don't say that. HAHA
It crossed my mind that could be a problem, but am a glass is half full kind of guy! Tomorrow I'll get in there and torque on them and see. Were you able to come up with a fix for that? Thanks, Ryan

Leak from headgasket
I picked up a 620 and noticed that there is a puddle under the truck after it has been run and warmed up. After nosing around under the hood, I was able to find the source of the leak. It's coming from the head gasket just below the exhaust manifold. I've had a few head gaskets go over the years in ...

Re: 620 Header
LOL... Thanks Mike.
Stand corrected, I need a L-20 Exhaust manifold for a 79 Datsun 620. Mine is cracked and has already been repaired once.
Figured since I was pulling the exhaust manifold off anyway I would throw a header on... Anybody have on laying around and interested in parting with it?

Re: Grinding from starter/flywheel
You should come pick this 720 up! Would look better in your garage slammed on its nuts than in my driveway!
I like the 720 4x4's but these do nothing for me. Picked it up as a challenge and the price was right.

Re: 620 Fender set new in packaging.
Be the first dude riding around with box mounted fenders!:) Was thinking along the lines that if they are new in the box it would be better. Otherwise they are fenders that come with scrap cardboard. If someone expresses and interest in picking them up and would like to see them outside of the box ...
