Re: 1962 Datsun U320
Nice job tracking the dimmer switch fault Wayno.
I hate doing electrical, it does my head in!
Must be just the angle of the pic, but that wiper motor looks close to the hood when closed?

Re: 1962 Datsun U320
Hello everyone. I am glad that this little U-320 is stirring up so much interest. That is most of the reason I sold it to Wayne. I live in NC and after purchasing a basket-case 63 NL I started a website called Olddatsunpickuplovers.com. It was an awesome site and with the help of several of you and ...

Re: 1962 Datsun U320
Apparently it's the heater switch delete plug.
Heaters were an optional extra down here in AUS back then!

Re: 1962 Datsun U320
I couldn't remember the code for the caps but did remember they looked like the Morris caps. So I looked up Morris distributor caps on eBay. The part code is LU-420. Here is a link, there are quite a few on eBay. These look just like the ones I have fitted to both my 320's, but unsure of exact size ...

Re: 1962 Datsun U320
Both my 320's have plug leads that come out the side.. Maybe that's because they are both obviously, RHD and the column is in the way. I just assumed all 320 caps were wired the same. (same as fuel pump primer) Just found a few caps for sale with the side wiring on eBay. They are not quite the same ...

Re: 1962 Datsun U320
G'day Wayno. Sounds like you're getting closer to the intermittent spark problem. Process of elimination, you will get there. I see the heater hose hooked up, looks a little kinked in the pics? Have you finished work on the heater? Sure I've seen NOS dist. caps on eBay recently. May have been here ...

Great work so far Wayno.
It's very interesting to watch your progress.
Nice use of the clamps!
Keep up the good work.

Re: 1962 Datsun U320
The RHD looks normal to me down here in Australia!
Great buy Wayno, can't wait to see it get built up to your normal standards.
Very cool looking find.
