Oil inlet/outlet gaskets. Compressor backing plate seal/o-ring (black).
Shaft nut (compressor side)
Thrust collar that houses the dynamic front compressor side seal (piston ring type).

Re: BLUE's Copper ZXT
Turbine shaft seal (bigger one) , and compressor side seal (standard butt joint "piston ring" type) I'll be using the updated compressor seal in replacement of this one pictured during the rebuild.
Journal bearings... they are held in by snap rings.
270-degree bronze Thrust bearing (funny looking gold thing) , turbine housing bolts , backing plate bolts , brackets , locking brackets , exhaust studs(black) , snap rings , and that's pretty close to it .... I think haha.

Get to work.
When the only tool you have is a hammer every problem starts to look like a hippy.

Re: BLUE's Copper ZXT
Doing a "little" work.. ( lol just a little ).
Decided to start drilling out the broken bolt.
The other broken bolt I shall slip a nut over the top .. weld it onto the existing snapped bolt protruding surface and wrench the effer out.
Left hand drill bits ( and right hand drill bits..)
3/32nd LHD drill bit seemed to be doing a fair job.
Explanation needed ? if drilling lots (or even a little) there should be lubricant involved .
Filled cavity with rapid-tap and wen't to work.
a bit off center lol , but should be fine
It's practically drilled through as this point , but no pictures.
Have to go pick up another bit or two since I was kinda stupidly tired + snapped the bit
That's all for nowz ...

Want to drill a few out for me... ?
I hate broken bolts. Extraction takes forever.

Good work though! I only have 3 in my exhaust manifold but the metal seem pretty soft luckily.

Ah dang how many do you have broken ? hahadraker wrote:Want to drill a few out for me... ?

Yeah me too .. extraction does take forever
It's like you could setup a 12-hour time lapsed camera video ... everything else would move but you , your drill ... and some broken bits ...

Thanks draker .. are the 3 busted ? They do seem soft enough to work with indeed ! I didn't use a center punch on my last (3) ? and got fantastic results... well for me at least ..
Front and rear exhaust studs on L6's .. I'd bet nearly half of them are broken (or break coming out) and I bet people keep on rolling ..

Yeah, I've got 3 broken but they are the lower ones that connect to the exhaust pipe.

Alright !
finally getting back to this.
Popping off the oil pan to clean it out , mostly making sure the block vent/mesh isn't crapped up ... don't want extra pressure on the turbocharger itself.

just a reference for the oil pan ribbing.

Re: BLUE's Copper ZXT
Oil pickup had a little bit of debris against the screen , but not much.
Rest looks pretty good considering turbo engine.
