Re: Jacobs goon build
So due to random events, and the way things are unfolding, I finally got a date to take my car in. December 28th. This is a good time for me as I should be mostly done with all my running around and what not. Also, I should have earned my money doing house work.
I did manage to pick up a new T/C pocket and Rod from Dave Bothwell. He works near where I live so that made it easy.
Also, I am suddenly doing a ton of research for this car.

Re: Jacobs goon build
Got back from camping today. Winding down the day. I repaired a hair straightener for my sister (wire needed to be resoldered).
Then I decided that I should do something regarding the car.
So one problem with the car, my Headlight exploded. Well I sent the good people over at TheRetroFitSource.com (BEST guys ever regarding all things HID/projectors, amazing customer service and tech support) an email about my car and about the possibility of buying just a single lense and HID bulb. They had no issue with that and promptly sent me an invoice. And it was shipped ASAP. Yes, I was able to buy 1 lense for my projector, and 1 new 5000k 50W HID bulb.
Anyways pictures.
Here is my Passenger side headlight still intact for reference.
Bare Projector Housing, notice the missing lense.
Carnage! That poor lense got chipped every which way.
And Im not sure if this bulb is actually bad or not, but better to just replace anyways.
Yes the new bulb, 5000k for that Super White look with no Blue at all like the common 6000k.
New lense, notice the way the 2 catch the light.
Disassembly.
Fore-ground limiter as well as the high beam limiter (not sure why a high beam limiter is needed...)
The plate that makes the "Step" in the light output.
And Lense is back on.
I have also started onto the BMW housing.

I don't know anything about the place you get your HID's from (although I will check them out in the future) but I've gotten my HIDs from DDMTuning. The bulbs are fairly cheap although I don't know what size you use. Maybe could be a back-up. Do you know what caused the lense to explode?

DDM tuning. They are hella cheap. don't off what I want. I use D2S, its an OEM HID size. And most don't carry the 5000k color.
lense exploded in the crash, all I know.

Sucks they don't have what you use. They do have 5000k though, for my pathy & the wifes car anyway.
Ah yeah the wreck, sorry I had forgotten about that. Good on getting it done.

Re: Jacobs goon build
Well I had swapped my motor into my friends 521 to go camping. Needed the extra power for the hill climbs. Let us do 65 the whole way. But my clutch slipped in 4th alot, but not the other gears... Anyways we swapped back last Sunday. Let my motor just sitting in my car. Tonight I buttoned it all up, got the car running again. I forgot the exhaust wasn't hooked up, open headers sound amazing on this motor! Found a fuel leak on the rear carb hose. Tomorrow evening taking the car to my work. Then Saturday morning I'll drive it across the street to the body shop, and hopefully it will be all straight. I'm excite!

And finally, some tools:
Ridgid 18v 1/2" drive impact. Uses same battery as my drill and sawsall.
And to go with the Impact:
