after the 2 back bolts for the mount fell out, all the load was on the front 2.

i did make the drive side motor mount pretty much a solid mount. i locked the isolator with an old socket. engine doesnt move around at all now..

i dont blame it for giving up.. its all good now.. put a nice hot weld on it and have 4 bolts in it again...

this is what i wrapped up with last night...

engine is all sealed up again, turns over just right..

i have not figured out how the timing marks on the KA work too, so now i can actually tune it correctly.

Image

i tore the brake system apart too.. i need to order a master cylinder so i can figure out the brake lines.

Image

i need to get rid of the LSV under the truck, and get some unions and patch tubing. ill prolly end up having to get standard to metric brake line adapters.

soo much more to do. but the engine stuff is pretty much done, so i got that going for me... lol

so ive kinda gotten stuck on the truck this week..

the bolt for the lower control arm is corroded in the bushing really bad.. i cant even turn the bolt with a pair of vice grips on it.

i sprayed some penetrating oil on it and its been sitting since last sunday.

so im gonna try and get the cut off wheel in there to cut the bolt so i can drop the arm..

more to come here soon...

Had that happen last week on Pathfinder trailing arm bushings. Tried everything to get them out. Ended up just cutting both ends of the bolts off with a cutoff wheel.

got some updates.

hung the HB lower and the spindle on the truck..

looks right at home.

Image

its only hangin by the upper tho.. the lower has the bolt runnin through it to the frame. just mock up.

Image

Image

went to the junkyard to hunt down a master cylinder for the brake swap.

came down to the ford explorer unit that fit the bill.

its the same as this one here: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/ ... 91%2C21896

has a 1.06 in bore, metric ports, prop valve built in and its for disk/drums. i think it will work pretty well. time will tell, i guess...

so thats whats going on for now..

i still need to get the pass. lower control arm out, and see if i can salvage the bushing.

oh, i did start on one upper control arm yesterday too. found a guy on DMT that built a set of arms using half 620 king pin arms and the end of a balljoint arm.

ive started the same thing, but im finding it might be easier to just cut some plates with the balljoint pattern and skip using stock end of an upper.

more to come!

little bit of productivity tonight..

got some lights in the garage now!

Image

and jason had a good idea to fiddle with the stock booster parts to mount the new master cylinder.

the stock booster mount has enough meat on it to bolt the ford master cylinder to. ill cut out a plate that will fit between the master and the booster mount. should cover the part of the hole the master cylinder doesnt cover, and will keep the master real solid on the booster pedestal. keepin it simple.

pics...

Image

Image

Image

now i can start to figure out the plunger rod, and running the brake lines...

things are starting to look up for ol gill... lol
