Figure out that #3 miss yet?

Not yet. I do know that the oil pump drive shaft and distributor is 180 out. But I also have the plug wires set 180 out. I'll pull the pump and fix that.. not sure when though, need a new gasket. I do have an EL dizzy to throw at it.. but I wanted to get it running good with the stock setup first.

Still confused about the miss.. time to dig deeper.

Alright guys. I need some guidance.

I am trying to find out why this engine is running like shit. I had a mis-fire on #3. Compression, spark, fuel good. I am checking out the timing. Here is what it looks like with the crank timed.

Cam is slightly off.. could be from worn timing components? It's not a full tooth off.. measured it and it's about a half a cam tooth off.

I had a miss in my 69 521 and it was confusing me. I had noticed that the coil's bottom was slightly round outward so I check a few spare coils and their were cupped inward a little, so i swapped it out and now it runs with out a miss. Might want to check the coil.

Ran out of gas... put new gas in.

What do you know. Runs great! The old gas in the tank had been there for a while..

lol

pretty simple with that stuff isn't it. Either good or not. That 510 I bought off Skunk... Jesus fuck, he had that thing advanced 30 degrees. Ran like asshole. Also missed once I got the timing right. Threw some new plugs in her, and away she went. However the carb was a single 45 side draft I had bought off a race motor. Talk about over kill lol. Ran like ass then :|

On the T connector on the matchbox, what is the pin out? Which one is the B and C connector?

Missed it. Yea that timing mark on the cam is actually spot on. As long as the V and the dash are over lapping at all, it should run fine.

Top of the T is negative (blue wire on the later cars)

Stem of the T is Positive (Black/white like your ignition wire to coil positive)

For some reason it's not really running that great with the EL Dizzy. I gapped the plugs to .040".

It ran good with the points dizzy.

Here it is running. It shakes pretty bad.. although I should mention the rear tranny mount is a floor jack until the T3 crossmember gets here.

Also, the dizzy is 180 out with the ignitor facing the exhaust. The vacuum advance hit the upper radiator hose if flipped. Suggestions? or is this how people run them?

Those wires are super tiny! I would first get some 16 gauge on them with proper female spades!

EI coil?

Yeah, this is all I had on hand. I had to strip it out of an old Z32 harness. I'm going to wire it up much better than this. This is just for testing. Thanks for wire recommendation, wasn't sure what size I needed.

Tore both the recaro seats down and removed both seat skins.

I payed a visit to a local upholstery shop that is going to make new skins for the head rests and bolsters. Should match a bit better with the rear seat and door panels. Also going to have the shop make me some wheel well covers at the same time. Can't wait!!

Although, reinstalling the seat skins is going to be a mofo'in bitch. I can tell already.
