But as you can see I didn't make a new hole I more extended the old one so the Trans would still sit where I need it too... well ill see in a few days when I get the block in.
So basically the mount needs to be slightly shorter than what it is.
The way I made the mount, the holes in the mount cannot be elongated, the overkill bracing I do just lets the 720 mount bolt in, from the looks of it, you need a mount that is another half inch back(guess).

I'm almost there man just need a few more full days..
I think we just got approved for a house in oly.. truly find out tomorrow. So that's some stress and time that gets freed up. If or when we get approved we can move in sometime after the 5th I believe..
Every day after work I get home at about 7 and work in the garage tell about 1030 11. Take a hit and hit the hay.

And that's so the drive line would bolt up right?
Either way I think the holes that I may end up drilling will bring it back to where the drive line will bolt up. Let just hope it's not to far back however I don't think that will be a problem. Again.. we all will see soon.

Yes that would be so the driveline would bolt right up, and so that the transmission would not need drilled, but it will need a custom mount designed differently than what I make, but mine are custom also, that plate that is angled up likely could be deleted and have the mount still work fine, but I build everything strong, my welding is not that great, so I over build everything so it will not matter.

I've got a few good ideas for my old mount. If I end up changing this one. But this o e is fine. Like you said you build them strong, this forsure looks strong.
I hope I remember to paint the mount.
Welding isn't that bad. I've been doing a little. Well did a little right before I left for oly for a few days.
I have no faith in my welds at all. Or if you could even call them welds. Wayno your welds look pretty darn good. Something I think will last a long while.
Oh and thanks a lot for the mount..
Bottom end is together.. Oil pan on. Everything torqued down to spec.
I think I'll be putting the head on tonight, I'm cleaning the old gasket off of it right now.. I cut the front off the gaskets as well to prepare.. things are coming together nicely. I'm getting g better.
Got some work done! Not done yet, I've got a few little things before it's done and ready for the clutch and tranny. I thought this chain and sprocket kit was relatively new I maay just get a new one. Ha
Hint, that is perfectly acceptable for a timing chain setup. The deal is, The V can be anywhere on the Notch. You actually have better overlap than most I have seen. I would just run that.
Glad someone said something about the chain timing. I thought it looked fine but it's always good to know someone else thinks so.. it took me a minute to get I was forgetting to twist the cam a little forward so I can get the bright link where it should be. It wouldn't reach... I was stating to get upset haha
So I've been thinking about how I'm going to put oil in the motor and oil cooler. Should I just fill up the oil cooler? Then the hoses and try to screw the hoses on. Or is there a way I SHOULD fill her up?

The angle looks good, I just cannot remember if the fat or thin side is supposed to be towards the radiator.

Yeah I said the same thing after I put the oil pump on.
Thanks though I kept thinking it was off.
I need to pick up the cherry picker and get the block off the stand so I can get the rear plug in before I forget. Also need to put the clutch and tranny on.
Oh and then you guys know what time it is.. I'll try to get it in.. but! I've been going slow. Don't want to fuck shit up. Gotta do more little things too. Clean tape the paint ha and just lot of little things.
Flat sides are good. Its not at 12 so that is also good. But tend to like the line to be a little more inline with the mounting holes. Its fine though, especially with everyone mismatching pedestals and dizzies.
Had to stop.. cherry picker is fucked!! Bent or some shit. With engine in the air it leans to the right, lifting in the air in the rear left. Couldn't move it by myself had to get two people to help put it on the tires. I forsure didn't want to bolt the trans on with the picker not doing its job... I'll rent one tomorrow... If I can get off work early to get it... any who that's it for now. Hope I can get this bitch in tomorrow.
