This one 'cherry picker' was at my house for two years. Took up tons of space. But did use it all the time. About a month ago the owner asked me to pull it out so he can pi k the cherry picker up. I did so and off it went.. I'd what he did!! If he picked up a car and bent the lift or it fell off the back of his truck.

I would have bought my own nice one. 125 bucks went an looked at it an everything. Thought I better stop buying things if I could borrow one.

I bought one off Schlink for 40 bucks. It's not collapsible. It's huge, and a pain in the ass. But I tear it down when not in use. I've used it probably 10-15 times in the last year. Surprising... It has a brand new 3 ton jack on it. It's very fucking big and stout. It could lift a 460 big block with ease.

My engine lift is the town slut. And its not mine even. Its my cousins, and I just have it because I offer storage. But everyone borrows it; its not in my garage right now.

I think I forgot to take off the bolt that screws into the main caps to take it off. There two caps that have threaded holes, the middle and the end... fuck I think it's in the middle..

So, how much space is that between the yoke and driveline, how much of the yoke is in the transmission when you slide it out to mate with the driveline?
The 720 yokes are longer than the 521/520 yokes, what is that yoke out of?
Can you make a plate to slide the engine/transmission back an inch, do you have the room to do that between the firewall and the back of the engine?

How much longer is the 720 yoke?
How much of the yoke is not enough yoke in the trans?

The 720 yoke is 4 inches long, and 1 inch back would not make a difference, but by the time you were to get it installed on the 520 driveline it might be more than one inch.
Image
It is made differently though, it connects directly to the driveline via the U-joint.
Image
Here it is bottomed out on a 5 speed transmission.
Image
I would find a very late 620 5 speed yoke or a 720 yoke and see if that will work before I would start modifying things, one can go crazy doing these mods, but after you do it once, it seems like a piece of cake, don't get stressed, it will work out in the end.

This yoke came with my short 720 trans.
I must have tossed it when I got the trans home thinking I wouldn't be using it.
Lucky I lost the mount you gave me cuz I found where I tossed this yoke and I then put It in a safe place. :)
Thank you Wayno your a lot of help. All of this is really not that bad. I'm glad I'm not getting stressed out :) even if I'm short on time. I've gotta be moving soon. Last day of work is the 30th. That gives me a little more then a week to get a lot of shot done. Including the 521. Hoping things don't go

It's always stressful when stuff like this comes up. It's easy to lose your cool. Especially when you don't have money laying around or even a little laying around.

Hope this works out for you man. Hurry the fuck up i've been waiting forever to see your shit done
