On a more serious note this thing is sooooo fawking smooth ... I start to touch the gas to feel a little rumber through the steering wheel just to make sure it has a pulse here or there while idling with the radio barely on (obviously I'm still not use to driving this type of car lol). Caught myself thinking the 'same' on the highway a couple of times... :rofl: :oops: :D ;)

-A/C system was filled today (not topped lol). Apparently it might have a small leak lol , but with summer fading away i'm not that worried about fixing it right this second. Maybe spring of next year. Compressor works as it should... well !

*Changing out the cv-axle , and cv-axle seal.
*Strut top hat
*and put in a hatch repair kit , lube the window guides , and some other shat.

While changing the engine oil I turned my head to my right to see this p-side brake line squirt squirt (checked reservoir = very little if any missing ?).

Long story short ... trying to obtain anything you need or might need to order to repair your car through most parts houses in my area ... you might as well give the car you're working on a swift viking funeral first (makes more sense at times at least).

Locally it would have cost me between $80-$100 for the pair of brake lines (they only stocked the one I didn't need).
Online both shipped to the door $40 ( might as well right....)
Choosing to not have to deal with total in-competence or know-it-all's .... = priceless (well other than myself..)

Euro cars suck to get parts for. I was told by a baxters manager that they are actually charged more for those parts than say discount import parts is. Always try to do things preventively as getting parts same day can be a struggle.

Driving down the Columbia Gorge gorge one night to eat dinner..... radiator/coolant indicator light clicks on then off very quickly twice in 10-min spans of time.
Over-flow tank was low enough in fluid .... I hit some bumps which in turn ....lit up the light (duh right).. looked around carefully with a flash-light couldn't see any leaks/drips.
Topped off the tank , and off it wen't no sweat at all there , and back some hours. (I knew I hadn't replaced the radiator this past summer).
Got back ... talked to my brother about it quickly , and in about 10 seconds he pointed out my radiator was cracked while likely losing very little coolant over time since when I plopped the engine in. (I mean 170K on a plastic radiator.. right ?). We both knew it was fine then , so at some point between September/October-ish ... and a couple of weeks ago.... it apparently finished itself.

Ordered a new radiator/overflow tank/ overflow pressure hose & drain hose/ lower & top hoses since they were good quality... cheap = $200 shipped.

New Over-flow tank (or whatever the official terms are)

Oh... my dash lights (green filters) were burnt out on the right side for a couple of weeks....
Decided on some regular blue bulbs plopped back in would be a better solution for my specific set of eyes (light sensitivity)
Didn't take out the filters since to much work for what I wanted to do , so now it's a blue/green-ish tint. I like it myself.

Seriously a pretty dang good car.

Felt my ignition tumbler assembly/lock dynamics change randomly during a couple of negotiations before going to work.
Called Jim Fisher Volvo of Portland...parts depot quoted me something like $388.73 + shipping + $60 for two cut keys to match the car (non-chipped). I had to drive down their and show proof of ownership prior to ordering as well. I was actually ok with that until they said an estimated 3-weeks to arrive direct from Sweden. Due to my current work schedule longer hours until April 1st I won't be able to get in until April 4th. Not willing to take that chance.

I Wen't online and 3-day shipped the same OE VOLVO part from Tasca auto parts for $250.88 ? Local smith with care two more keys for $40. He likely can match the keys anyways (showing the obvious ownership). Most importantly it gets done before leaving me stranded from my employment. I got rid of my old pickup in anticipation of buying a new blue tundra other words I probably would not have sweat it while Rollin in it...

I think once the Tundra arrives/I actually pull the trigger (waiting on a ram cummins quote Monday) I may just keep this for a puddle jumper. Low low insurance Monthly. Guess isn't great yet not horrible. Only so much room though to go around for -everything-. Damned good engine in this and the tranny has only like 128k on it.

Ended up selling this wagon years ago.... to a disabled veteran for $200 who's also taking care of his mom. It had its problems (hatch mechanism being one , climate control sensor , etc), but that guys gonna get good reliable transportstion. Solid drive train, all major services up to date , good tires , passes DEQ blahhhhhhh blah blah.
