That was all under it's own power.
Brakes locked up about 10 feet past where the pic was snapped.
All brakes super loose. All adjusters super seized.
Star wheels soaking in PB Blaster. Hopefully we can loosen them up tomorrow enough to adjust them.
uberkevin is here for the week. He helped me bleed the clutch master and slave I replaced today.
We're getting there. Hope to be driving it to work someday this week.

Looking at that picture...I really need to touch up the tailgate with some fresh paint for the letters.
Or get the wheels super dirty.

The wheels are in the sun, while the tailgate is in shadow, that will make the letters on the tailgate look dull.

The rims were PC'd months ago. The truck...44 years.
Patina. The tailgate letters have not been white for a long time.

Well your doing pretty good then, as I have seen several tailgates that the white is basically gone, but then some never were painted white to start with, or maybe they were just painted over.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
I was really just poking fun at it. I'm really OK.
Kevin kept saying how much better my truck was, condition-wise, than his.
Mine is very solid with minimal surface rust in spots. Great truck. And now that it's so close to being drivable...
I was stoked all day to just have the 50 foot drive I had today in it.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
After something like our trucks sit for an extended period of time, things like that happen.
I just pull them apart, free everything up, lube all the parts that need lubed, put it back together and hope for the best, about 50 percent of the time I have to buy new parts(brake cylinders), the rest of the time it works just fine, for a while anyway.
The only axles I have brake cylinder issues that baffle me are the dually rearends, they seem to be fine, then I start noticing that my pedal gets soft and I have to bleed the right or left side every 3 days or so, they are fine till about the 3rd day, I think it's because when I park it, the springs that pull the brake shoes back to the resting position, when all the fluid pressure is off the brake cylinders, the seals let air past, after 3 days of air gets in, I have to pump the brake to stop it.
I have never had this issue with the regular brake cylinders in out Datsun trucks, only the Nissan dually rearend brake cylinders.

Interesting.
So, Wayno...521 brake adjusters? Same as 620s? In case I need to buy new ones. Any difference between front and rear?

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
I have no idea about the 620 other than it being a metric truck, I don't believe that brake cylinder parts will interchange.
I do believe that you can use early 620 brake cylinders, but you have to use the bleeder housing/assembly/hoses from the 521 and run the 620 banjo bolt thru the 521 bleeder housing/assembly.
The brake lines ect. are SAE on the 521, while they are metric on the 620.
