Still haven't got her running. Getting spark and fuel. Just not firing right. So next leakdown test and see how that reads. In the meantime, got this here rockauto code today. Good til march 20,2016...(4045310336751967)

Make sure the firing order is correct and COUNTER CLOCKWISE, that it is close to being timed right, timing is a big deal, if it is to far one way or the other it will sound like it wants to run, but it will not run, also if the distributor was loose, sometimes it turns when you hit the starter because it sat for so long and was kinda stuck on the drive shaft, I have had this happen and I had no idea as I was in the cab turning it over, not looking at it when I hit the starter, I thought it was at TDC, it took me months to get that engine to run.

True, snugging up that bolt may help. I'm getting firing out the exhaust. So I mean, it's that close. I have some time in the day light tomorrow. See what shakes loose.

Re: Silver bullet 210
My neighbor was trying to start his boat early last year and it had this sound coming out the exhaust for the couple days they had been trying to start it, it was a hollow sound like it was a strange sounding drum being hit, I went over and asked him to do this or that that and it made no difference, so I had him turn it to TDC and we pulled the distributor cap, it was off a complete post, I turned it around till it was pointed at number one wire and it started right up, the distributor was loose, so I told him to tighten that bolt up and it would likely be good, it was a V8 engine so it didn't have to be turned a lot.
I just guessed that it had turned the first time they had hit the starter that season, but they could have done it themselves trying to get it to run, the neighbor kid there at the time didn't know, he was just the one that always ended up working on things when they didn't start/run right.

Re: Silver bullet 210
Running as on this evening! Turned out it wasn't timing in the dizzy or the cam. My valves weren't seating, so after adjusting my valves it fired right up. Feel like an idiot, I just overlooked adjusting my valves thinking it was fine because it was when I pulled it. But being a different block I had to reset them. Ran a compression test and it read 1->4 150,150,120,170 before we ever heard it fire. Like to do another one. Thanks to Sam and Mike for coming by today. Good shit!

Been a cruiser, hit the 1500 mile mark today since it hit daily mode again. Still running smooth. Actually, been pulled over for speeding twice since. Which sucks, but i'll learn...

Did a cruise down to Sonora,Ca for Mother's day. My choke wire disappeared on me half way down so after fixing that it was smooth sailing. Snapped this photo of my Motha on her 50th Birthday

Nice weather, and a good reason for a cruise. Doing in a Datsun, even better!Skeletonbonez wrote:Did a cruise down to Sonora,Ca for Mother's day.
