They are water proofed and installed, but the car still needs a wash.
A closer look at the side curtains themselves.

Looks good. Have you driven it with the top/sides in place yet?

Re: 1953 MGTD
Only about 30mph, I might do that today to see what flaps, I know the top flaps around because I could see it happen when I towed it down the freeway.DRIVEN » Sun Mar 27, 2016 7:34 am wrote:Looks good. Have you driven it with the top/sides in place yet?
I don't believe that the flapping can be fixed easily because the material is only one layer on the edges, if it had been a double layer on the edges I could have inserted an old eighth inch coil Mig welding liner like the Datsun roadsters have, but the top wasn't made that way.
Here is the liner material I am talking about.
Here is the pocket that the Datsun roadster top has for the liner material to stop flapping and to hold the top material against the door glass to make a better seal while driving.
The MGTD top isn't made that way, plus the Datsun roadster top is a thicker material than the MGTD top, I would have to remove the top and have a modification made to the top to be able to insert an edge stiffener, right now it is not even on my top 40 list, I would rather have a tonneau cover for when the top is down made, as that is when I would more likely drive this car.
Fact is I don't even know why I own this car, but since I do own it, I am making it nicer for some reason that eludes me.

Re: 1953 MGTD
I was searching thru my parts and found some beauty rings and caps I had bought for the car, so I put them on.
I buy this stuff and forget about it, I have some other stuff to, like brand new aftermarket chrome headlight buckets complete, but I kinda like the tri-pole headlights.

Re: 1953 MGTD
I bought a black carpet kit for this yesterday on ebay, they said it was in storage for a while, and the car was sold so they didn't need it anymore.
I will see what shows up, I hope I can work with it, as it is made for a stock MGTD.
