I was pretty lucky that it was installed by the original owner. I had to partially rebuild it when I moved in as the previous, one owner inbetween us, had removed the arms and lost the hardware when converting the shop for use as a horse barn.

Being a single post has some downsides but, not too many when a jack and jackstands are the alternative lol.

As expected, no driveshaft today. But I may have an option that could save me if I can get the driveshaft back in time tomorrow. Going back to the standard brake pads to eliminate the break-in of the EBC Green Stuf pads for now.

When you're working with a 40+ year old jack, jackstands, and a harbor freight ratchet and wrench setup in a leaky garage...yes it is lol.

It was down to the wire but I got my driveshaft back around noon on Friday.

I had spent the morning trying to button up the little stuff to be ready just in case. Ended up with the truck washed and on the road by 3:00pm.

At first the only major issue seemed to be a rather squishy brake pedal, but after some more driving I found that the front tires were rubbing on the inner wheel wells pretty bad up front. To the point that if the bump was big enough it would jerk on the steering wheel. Even so, I chose to drive it anyway and just be careful.

In the end, after adding a passenger which caused a literal smoke show while driving due to the rubbing, the front was raised a bit until I can get the inners cut out and the brakes were rebled allowing for much better brake pedal response. Overall I'm really happy with how it turned out and with it having a pretty short list of issues considering the amount of work done to it.

You've got the look, for sure. Now just make it driveable.
When the only tool you have is a hammer every problem starts to look like a hippy.

Couple quick pics of the work to fix the flaws of the first road test.

Z32 brake master in 1 1/16" bore. The Z31 master worked, but had too odd of a pedal feel to let a new driver daily it.

Going to clean up the edges of the cutouts and adjust the torsions to bring the front back down today.

Have an appointment set for an alignment tomorrow, hoping to swing by and get the exhaust done after. That should wrap up the list of true mechanical/maintenance issues and leave only the fun stuff like stereo and a seat swap to finish it up completely.

Only thing that's different from the pic to final is I hammered up the edges to prevent snagging, basically everything is rolled away from the tire. I have some edge trim on the way to cover the sharp edge of the cut. Both sides have the same amount of clearance despite what the pics makes it look like.

Alignment is done, currently at the exhaust shop. The rain and grey skies made pics a pain in the ass. I'll get some posted ASAP.

Hoping for an early start to the weekend sunshine tomorrow so I can spend some time cleaning it to cruise it this weekend. Got get my time in now, in 6 months I gotta hand over the keys lol.

Took it down to Everett this weekend. Had a BBQ with friends to send off a close friend, he's headed to Austrailia for a year. Went on a cruise with 20+ cars on Sunday, truck did awesome the whole time.

Still need to get the seats swapped, sub and amp installed, oil change, diff fluid change, and wrap up the e-brake. But even with those things done, there's always more to do, lol.
