Does your 4-speed have a big steel pan on the bottom (510/521 style) or a small steel cover on the top with 6 bolts just ahead of the shifter (240Z style)?

Sorry, shifter won't work on the 5-speed.

So I've got all these new parts here, but none of the bolts. I should be picking them up Friday from the dealership, including the starter, bell housing, flywheel, pressure plate, and valve cover bolts. I wanted a throttle cable too, but they want $95 for it!
Until then, I'm stuck. I guess I could pull my motor and drop it in the 620 but I was hoping my buddy would get the engine bay cleaned up first. Slow bastard he is.

I just got a brand new Pioneer 240sx throttle cable, for a 1991 KA24DE, off rock auto for $32 ... and there's even %5 off discount codes in the Ratsun classified "discussion" forum

I saw those throttle cables, but wasn't sure about quality. I think I'll order one now.
I plan on the standard cross member flip. I'd rather not, but unless I can find one already flipped, or a custom pan/sway bar at a reasonable price, it's all I can do. I really just need someone to cut it straight for me, as I can weld it myself.

I'm using a 1991 240sx stock gas pedal ... it will take a little modification to fit a 510, but it would probably work. I got it for $30 shipped off ebay. My old cable was cut and threaded through a hole drilled in the top of the stock pedal, but the cable got frayed and turned into 100 loose strands.

Get creative and cut it with an angle grinder. Just dont forget to tack the ends of the crossmember together to keep their alignment.

I shouldn't be worried about making sure both cuts are symmetrical?
At first I was mad I had to spend $40 on a Helicoil kit, then I was actually glad I did because I've had to use three inserts so far, but then I was mad again when I remembered the PO stripped the bolt holes in the first place. At least they were all the same size (M6x1.0), so I only had to buy the one kit.
NOTE: Heli Coils are freakin' handy and easy to use, I think I'll strip more bolts!
I've still just been bolting things back onto the motor, I should have a finished picture later, just need to get the clutch on. Found one of the mounting ears on the starter is broken off too, so I'll need one of those... So far I've replaced, the rear main oil seal, CLEANED, removed upper timing chain guides, replaced most of the engine sensors, single belt/PS pump delete mod, CLEANED, new flywheel with new bolts, EGR delete, liquid gasket everywhere it needs to be. Oh, and I also cleaned and replaced the seals on the transmission.
P.S: New flywheel didn't come with dowel pins, and the motor didn't come with a flywheel so I can't take them off that. Most people will say they aren't critical, but what do you guys think? Bolt the clutch on, or wait and make the trek to the dealer again?

I like the dowel pins...
As far as crossmember cutting. You can make it fairly straight. Use a laser guide to draw straight lines to cut on. Use a tape measure to make it fairly parallel.
If you mess it up too badly, just box in the end pieces and run some DOM in place of the cut out piece.

Updated crossmembers have a thicker bottom plate as explained in that pdf. I would imagine the rest of the crossmember is the same as the old bottom thickness.
