Yeah they dont make those any more. Havnt in a few years it looks like, is there a date on them? Nit that it matters, I seen em there nice, rubber feals good. Few chew marks from fender rub on one. Not even that bad. The thing will be replacing them.
Kinda in the same boat as me with the 215/50/13s.

Yeah, replacing them worries me. Once they are gone... they are gone, then wat i do?!? I'll have to find different spendy tires and then probably dick with the suspension to make it work right.

type in the diameter you want on this page
http://hpwizard.com/tire-calculator.html

like my 40 series are 21.1 inch diameter... I typed that in, pressed enter, and then it told me comparable sizes in same diameter..

Went and talked my ass off at the datsun garage. Doug (morrisun) gave me a h72 for nothing!... well maybe to get me to leave lololol. You can see the mark where the su manifold doest line up..
And also just noticed that this head is drilled for both manifood patterns. Cool.

Can you explain a-series heads for the less informed members? It it a peanut head?

Is the H72 missing an exhaust valve, by chance?

Ok, so this is not a peanut head. There are several types of peanut heads. But the common one has realy small ports that you cant do shit with.
This is an oval port open chamber, the only option better would be a clost chamber oval port, like an h89, or a gx head.
Ive sold most my good a series stuff year before last but had a couple h89 heads and have my eyes open for another.
Untill then ill shave this one down and port it,
The oval design here can be ported for a almost straight shot ontop of the valve. And the su manifold is riggt in line there so flow should be awsome.

Not sure if this will help with the tire situation but this is the guide I use.

Can you drill out any a series head for the early manifolds, or is it just the h72's and the earlier heads? I know the later a15 MPG heads have water jackets that make them virtually unportable, but I'm not sure if that would interfere with drilling that far above the port.

I think you can, but there in direct line with the head bolts. This one is drill all the way to the head bolts.... it must work cause it was working, but you would have to watch how long the bolts where to keep them off the head bolts.
And yeah the tiny post h95 , and earlier round port heads have no room to port realy.
And the 1200 mani doesnt have room to grind out so unless you have a big port old style manifold, wich I have ne er seen, then there is no piont in drilling it our for the old pattern.

Ah, I see. There's not really any practical use for my question, I just thought it would be a useful bit of information to absorb. Thanks!

If you had to use a head on your a12, a h95 closed chamber small port head would work good on an a12, you would have to drill the old pattern like this one, and drill one oil passege out, but it would be a slight improve ment over the stock a 12 head because its closed chamber. And the small ports would match the a12 mani verry well.

One of those must have been mine. Only reason I asked was because there was one missing an exhaust valve in the pile of parts that went with the coupe I sold him last year. Poor thing got all cut up. Post #206. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/14594 ... ly/page-11

Yeah. I wanted that car. I thought it was pretty solid. But if you see all the cars they patched up with it... well still not.worth it. I would have drove that thing.

Yeah, organ donors get special status. Glad it went to good use. When they picked it up they were talking about using it for a Ute conversion.
