Thanks, I really appreciate it. It's been kind of fun driving it around the last few days. Lots of thumbs up and big grins.

I get that also when I drive my 521 kingcab, people approach me in parking lots or walk by grinning while looking at the truck, not so much on the work truck.

Re: Just another car I'll never finish.
I've gotten an ass-load of random texts and emails on this thing just to tell me they love the car and would buy it if they had any money . Only one lowball offer so far.

The thing I figured out. Everyone in my parents generation remembers there parents owning one, or learning to drive on one. They love seeing them on the road.

Re: Just another car I'll never finish.
Yup. I know I've said it before. My parents had the identical twin to my car when I was 5 or 6. Oddly, the nostalgic thing that drew me to the wagons was one I saw on the freeway in the Seattle area when I was around 16. It was done mini truck style with the entire top cut off and a snap-on toneau cover over the cargo area and back seat. Rear doors welded shut basically making it a 2 seater. It must have had some sort of subframe or cage to keep it together. Slammed on 5-stars with Testerossa mirrors -- the total '80s package. Now it would be a complete abomination but at the time I was in love.

Sounds about right. Sucks going through the trash to get to the serious folks.

Shrug, Craigslist. Actually, if the lowball guy had made half an attempt at sounding serious, we might have had something to start with. The email was so dumb I didn't even respond.

Hopefully this post won't jinx it but I've been working on a deal with a guy from Chicago. He's just trying to pin down a shipper.

Re: Just another car I'll never finish.
New owner is a Datsun guy from SLC and seemed to know exactly what he was buying. Got a text last night that he made it home with no problems -- almost 400 miles. Said the car seems well sorted and he's excited. Even if he decides to change everything, I think the car is in good hands.
He took all the spares except the rearend and struts. I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with any leftovers but I guess I'll see if I can sell them. Any takers?

Re: Just another car I'll never finish.
Gotta find someone racing vintage, for the front struts at least. The rear, I dunno. If it would fit the 910 I'd take it. But it's smaller.

I remember that they were a "bullet proof" upgrade for 1200s and B210s but they're a little wider.
