Re: Tundra
IIRC there was a bulletin that basically said pink/purple crusty fuzz is totally normal and acceptable. Wet leakage isn't.
When the only tool you have is a hammer every problem starts to look like a hippy.

Re: Tundra
Toyota pink coolant turns to powder when it starts weeping and hits atmosphere. Climb under motor and look up towards bottom of water pump. When you see all the pink crusty boogers, you'll know.
If it's very light pink/whitish it is small.
When you see the dark pinkish boogers, that is an active leak.
I've seen tons of the factory water pumps have bearing failure when they are at that wet/dark pinkish color. Coincidence, maybe. Made plenty of paychecks just replacing water pumps.
Corolla...half an hour start to finish. Book time is like .8hrs.
Tundra...couple hours, maybe 3 depending on how easy the system burps. Book time for this I think is 5.5hrs.
Unless there is a massive leak, you won't see it on the ground.

Re: Tundra
BMW coolant does the same. And it starts blue, and turns green with age. You can buy it from Zerex G48. Its a modded G05 coolant. Probably very similar to the Toyota stuff.
