I got some good news in my mind, I seen a cardiologist today(heart doctor), and she only seemed interested in my heart rate and cholesterol, we talked about the cholesterol thing, and I said I was not at all interested in any more pills for that as I have had major issues with every pill I have been given for that, I will not take them anymore, she prescribed me a pill to lower my heart rate as I even think my heart rate is high, when they took my vitals my blood pressure was 104 over 62, but my heart rate was 88 beats per minute just sitting there, it has been like that since the pneumonia/not sleeping thing back in mid-October 2024, she said if my heart rate is lower my heart muscle can get more blood inside it and push more blood thru my body, it is beating too fast to fill properly so I am going to start taking that pill tonight, I am hoping it has no side effects.

In the end she did not appear to be worried about my heart at all, she said my heart valves sounded fine, this is good as I have heart damage from past heart events, my EKGs are ugly looking, ugly to the point when someone connects me up for an EKG I tell them I have heart damage so I don't get any concerned looks/questions anymore.

I am riding my bicycle 5.5 miles a day now and have been since late December, it takes me about 30 minutes now(improved by 10 minutes), and I feel better.

How are the pills doing for you? Doctor’s concerns seem promising.

Riding a bike is good exercise and exercise ain’t gonna hurt anyone.

Right now, I am not sleeping that well because I quit taking the Furosemide that I took another 16 days of to see if that was the pill causing my sleep issues and it is, it takes a few weeks to get over that drug so I can sleep again, plus I have to control how much water I drink/take otherwise I get liquid around my lungs, I never had this happen before in my life before taking that pill, so it caused the issue, I regret ever going to that doctor and will never go to him or that building again for any reason.

A few days ago I rode that 5.5 miles in 22 minutes, I have not done that well since, 30 minutes Sunday, and 28 minutes today which is normal now.

So far the pill for lowering my heart rate, I cannot tell if it is what is keeping me awake right now because I need to get the Furosemide out of my system, my heart rate has not lowered that much that I can tell so far, today my blood pressure was 97/54 which is great, my blood pressure has not been an issue at all.

Good to hear the blood pressure is where it needs to be.

Has the heart rate come down now? The Furosemide should be out of your system by now right?

I am on a different "water pill" now, I started having an issue with it concerning sleeping about 2 weeks after starting it but have mostly got thru it, it was not near as bad as my reaction to Furosemide, I am still taking that new pill.

I do not understand this, the doctor knew I had trouble with that Furosemide pill but never offered anything else, one night I was having issues sleeping, I figured out as I was so tired that I could fall asleep sitting up, but after falling asleep my butt would slide down and when I chest went level I would quit breathing, this happened 4 times, I would wake up and start breathing/gasping, I found a position where I was able to sleep on my side, I fell asleep and abruptly woke up unable to breath, my head had slipped off the side of the bed into a "V" groove between the head board and the matrass, my throat was closed and I was choking, I finally lifted my head and was able to breath, I went to the doctor that morning, told her what had happened, then I said I had searched and found "there were about 4 water pills out there, don't we think I should try another one"?, she gave me another prescription and that is how that happened, I do not understand why she did not suggest that.

As for my heart rate, before I rarely seen a heart rate under 80 something beats per minute, now if I get up to get my blood pressure unit my heart appears to start racing, so I would have to wait for a while before checking, I put the unit in a place I do not have to stand to get it and now most the time it is in the 70s, and by the time I get to the 3rd test it is in the high 60s most the time, before the pill I think I only seen a high 60s number once in months, I rarely seen anything in the 70s, I feel better in my mind it is dropping down some, I have seen 60s several times recently.

Last night my blood pressure was 98/51, I had a 10 something over 48 last week once, I did not get dizzy, but anything under 60 is considered low, but the doctor does not seem worried when she gets 95/52.

My bike rides take me around 25/27 minutes now, I had a 24 minute ride a while back, it appears to be hard at this point to improve, I had a flat back tire 3 days ago, I was as far as I could be away from my house, I rode it all the way home for over 2.5 miles, it is not easy to ride with a flat tire, but I cannot walk that far on my left knee(bone on bone), that is why I ride my bike, that does not cause me pain, $41.00 for a tire/tube, sometimes(half the time) I do 2 rides a day now if it is not raining, and I do ride in light rain now.
