You gonna work at home depot, they have a shitty metric selection, but a selection none the less.

No problem! I only saved that carb if I ever had an issue with my SU carbs, which I don't. And then it was just a point of saving it foe the right time.

Gonna grab some coffee. Then finish some things on the truck. Still waiting on dude to drop off the head.

Shitty wiring removed. Looking for a plug to make it nicer but has spade terminals connected to the key switch. Looks better. Need to clean the floor up and seal it before it becomes cancer. Still waiting on the head :/

^^^ Omg man, that wiring

I've been getting a little better at wiring, and figuring it out. Wiring diagrams for the win. I still don't know how to test resistance etc for shorts, but in time.

A MULTIMETER IS A MUST!!!

DVOM.

Source, load, ground. That is all there is.

A good meter will make electrical so much easier for you.
Even a poor meter will make short of issues if you remember the requirements of a circuit.

I have a multimeter. It's not a very expensive one, but it seems to read out right.

Then how are you having a problem testing continuity?

How is a dvom different than a dmm? Makes it sound like your dvom can't do amps or capacitance.

I guess Keith, I just don't know how. I know to stick them on the circuits. and yadda yadda, IDK. I haven't tried getting into it yet. Fwiw there is nothing going on with the truck, but when my 510 had bad headlights and you tried telling me what to do, I just didn't get it.

The more I read the electrical diagrams, and tinker, the more I understand. One day I will have to do some reading on testing a circuit and start testing. Some things I can read and take in, and understand / retain. other things I need it to be hands on.

Or come hangout with me. I had to fix a lot of things on my friends Z today... But its all together now. I somehow find joy in solving all the electrical problems.

Will do jacob. Probably the best way to learn. I think the headlights dont work. Havent looked into it yet. Will let you know.

I have to change the head. Add the wires to the alternator. Install the seats. Install rear window. And i think thats it. Little body work on the roof at some point.

Resistance or checking continuity is simple.

In your circuit path-source, load, ground-there should be no resistance between all the points.
Set meter-DMM or DVOM, whatever we want to call it-to the ohms symbol.
The lower the number the lower the resistance. Too much and it will show an overload to your meter(O.L)

Sidenote: I call it a DVOM just because every class or form of training I am involved in is is called a DVOM(digital volt/ohms meter.)
I was having fun when someone said meter, Lou said DMM, so I naturally said DVOM.
It may be important for electrical noobs-no offense, izzo-to know that all 3 names are of the same thing.
