Hadn't heard that before but sounds reasonable to me. Funny thing about the panels is the yellow doors seem to be different dimensions than any of the others. They have huge gaps on bothe sides where they line up with the other panels. I'm probably gonna use the passenger side white door and might pick up a new drivers door tomorrow

Well I had a not so successful day at the junk yards today. I went to Sherwood, north Portland and then south Portland. The first two had no windshields at all and the last had a broken one. The crappy thing is I even checked the pictures on row 52 and they all looked promising. I did score some cool non retractable black shoulder belts. Eagle Adam hooked me up with the name of a company that has done datto glass and they're going to install a new windshield with a new gasket on Tuesday after I get off work. It'll be nice to have a nice brand new windshield. After that goose chase I decided to install my interior. I got it all in place and all the harness plugged in. Still a couple wires I need to locate but it's lookin good, I even installed my black vynle floors I picked up last year. Basically All that's left is a little wireing, bleed the clutch and breaks, install the battery, and wait for my new windshield. I also bent some of my su lincage so I'm getting a new piece soon.

My cool new seat belts

Damn son. Looking good. You are putting in a lot of time. It's all coming together and beginning to look like a fresh truck. Good job and keep it up. The satisfaction you're going to get when you're finished will be pretty epic.

Thanks guys! I'm having a geat time making my dream truck come to life.

Today I had my company picnic so I didn't get a ton done. But after that I picked up a linkage piece and a new hood from eagle Adam. Replaced my bent linkage on my carbs and then bled the clutch and breaks. Then I hooked the battery back up and took it for a short drive aroun the driveway and it drives and stops perfectly. Now all that's left before I can actoually drive it is my windsheild to be installed tomorrow after work... And I need to get a different throttle cable. The one I have is not gonna work very well.

Nice new hood

Thanks Adam! Those rings will look good on there

Haha yep after how far I tore my truck down moving under it's own power is exciting haha

Anyways I have to wait till tomorrow for the windsheild cause they didn't have a gasket in stock but it's worth the wait
So I fixed the throttle cable and tested the electronics to make sure my rewiring worked. The sterio works properly now and holds presets after I turn off the truck so that's a win. But... I still have no dash lights. Apparently that fuse was only part of the problem. I'll probably double check that fuse tomorrow to make sure it didn't blow again. And another problem surfaced... The indicator for the brights doesn't come on. Could just be the bulb so that too will be checked. Then I hooked up the choke cables and put my air cleaners back on and took an engine bay shot cause it's soo purdy haha

Soo much better

double check your running light wires where they run thru the panels and have the little rubber gromets. I know you just put it back together, but its pretty sharp and will cause them to blow the fuse n not work. (been down that road many of times) probably not what your issue is, though.

Hmm never thought to check the running light wires. I did check all the signals and the running a lights were working but one of the rear signals was out. I've been without dash lights for a few months so I'm almost to the Pinot where I'm gonna try a new cluster or harness

dash and running lights same fuse. idk about bright light indicator though, could be something else causing this all...

Hmm well I've checked all those wires for power before and I seem to have power everywhere I'm suppost to but no dash lights still. That's the reason I suspect the cluster. Also I have power running to the dimmer switch. I'm gonna try replacing every fuse in the fuse box since I have nice new fuses and do some more poking around. Currently waiting for my windsheild

I'll let you know if I give up lol

Finally got the windshield in!! It looks good and has the tinted part at the top too. I installed my windsheild whispers and got it ready for work in the morning. I also messed with some wires and fixed the indicator light for the brights and checked fuses for the interior lights. I'm gonna mess with it more after work but for mow here's a dark teaser pic with the new windsheild
