Re: CL ads
I always thought of a usable 4X4 as something that is going to get dented up and very dirty, therefore I would never take something nice like that out in the woods where the sides will get all scratched up on the first day, if I could not go for it because I was scared of scratching it, I would not be having any fun.
That thing is eye candy, honestly, would any of us ever drive that thru a river, what I mean is that the interior might get wet, but it looks good.

Here's a shot of it before it got painted ...

66 Datsun 520 $750 OBO... save her! - $750 (Hillsboro)
http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/5216049874.htmlPlease save this beauty from the scrap yard. I have tried many times to restore and/or sell her, to no avail. This is a 1966 Datsun 520 (American model) and is in pretty good condition. Body and frame are straight, she has a running engine with original and clone aftermarket carbs. No smoke, no choke. Problems are, she has no floorboard nor master cylinders which I can fix and my wife insists I get rid of her. I started a body-off project 2 years ago and have saved and labelled most parts. This is a flat-bed haul so don't expect to drive it home.
I have many NOS and aftermarkets parts for suspension and brakes. She is almost 100% complete, but missing rear bumper brackets and tips. All lenses, all glass and all body panels are in near pristine condition.
Save her from the scrap dealers. It would be a terrible shame to let this one go to a melting pot.

Re: CL ads
I believe that this is the truck that has my 1966 Datsun 520 engine in it, I sold the engine to the guy that had the truck before this guy, I actually drug the truck to his house for him out of that hoarders field.

Ad for that 520 should read;
"I got this truck and don't know what the fuck I'm doing. I ruined it. I'm an idiot and my wife is on to me. Save me from myself."

Re: CL ads
This has those stupid rims that are welded together, you cannot separate the inner and outer rim, I actually don't know how one would put tires on it, I have heard that no big name tire shop will touch the rim/rims.
If I had photos of one of them rims I would post it, but I have never actually seen one of these rims without tires on it.
I believe that the rear fenders will fit any 620, these extended/crew cab trucks are why them fenders exist.

Re: CL ads
Other than that it doesn't look too out of line for what their asking. Swap in a bigger engine, auto, and a newer rearend with steamroller tires and it has potential.

Still, it looks like it could be saved. The price seems fair, but the location doesn't work for me.
Not that I need another Datsun project at my place, but that never seems to stops us.
