All measurements that I took, i took with the truck on the ground. I just so happen to fit under the truck pretty well.
I too don't think the yoke will make much difference.
I am sure it's coming from the rear seal.
I clean everything up ' well oil' and once I start to drive I watch the driveline get covered with oil then that soon builds a puddle.
The gear oil fucking stinks!!
Also the driveline is throwing the oil everywhere where else could this gear oil be coming out of you know. Haha.

Are you saying the gear oil is coming out when the truck is not moving, but running?
Or do you have a hole your looking through while driving?
If it is throwing it everywhere, then it's likely the rear seal, it sounds like a 521 yoke that someone forgot to put the plug in the hole.

Yeah I have the inspection plate that goes over the shifter hole removed. It doesn't leak if just sitting.
I'm watching the driveline spin as I'm driving.
Damn that would suck not having that plug in the 521 yoke. Haha but I'm not using that yoke I'm using the 720 yoke.

Try doing the 2 seal trick.
Something is too screwy here.
Can you see the leak while driving?
How far down is the tranny pointing?

Well the valve cover reads 4° so I could only assume that the tranny is pointing 4 degrees done..
I could hardly get the seal that's in there in there, let alone another. If you look in the picture I posted of the transmission without the seal in there it doesn't look like you could push another in there. He may have been using a different trans.
Something is screwy here.
And it's getting old!

WTB: 521 yoke, 40mm freeze plug, and custom drive line.

I've got a 521 yoke sitting on my garage floor right now, with the plug in it.. but a custom drive line is out of the question right now. I'll go back to the stock set up before I do that.

I'm wondering if your 4* is causing too much stress.
You said you shimmed up the trans. What happens to the angle if you set it back to normal?

I'll find that out tomorrow.
My blocks are pretty bet up. Dents in them.
I had to put the shim in just perfect or else the shim would be in the hollow part of the block. Also the little knobs that hold the block there 'things in the middle' well those are really worn. I didn't even want to reuse them.
But I did set the shims so that they're working. I believe haha
I want new block. Need.
My 4 degrees down on the trans will probably turn to a 6 degree angle.

Idea.
I'm going to put the 521 yoke in the tail of the transmission
Spin it and see what happens, if oil comes out theeen idk.
If nothing comes out, my DL isn't in far enough. Yes?
Haha
I wanted to take the 521 over to tdaaj's today and put the stock 521 DL in but I don't think I'll make it over there. We'll I would but I'd lose all the oil in the trans. Haha.

I shoved the 521 yoke that has a plug in it into the transmission. Started the lz up and revved the bitch while in gear.. I didn't rev for very long do to my old neighbor 'didn't want to disturb him much'
Oil wasn't spining out.

I'll do it again for longer and see for sure then.
This being the case. I need a longer drive line. I believe.
Stock 521 trans is 26 inches? Or 26 1/2
Either way I'll see how long mine is and see if the 521 stock drive line will even work for my truck.
If you guys remember.

The transmissions rear mounting spot are in as you can see different spots. This probably messing with the way the stock drive line fits.. I'm using the 720 short 5 speed trans.
Close to the same size, yes but the mounting holes fucks that up. Sooo I'll just have to find out how much the 521 yoke will need to be pulled out to fit onto the 521 stock drive line..
Shit nuggets.

Did you try the double seals yet? I bet that would work pretty well...

Can't fit two seals in here.

OK, I have a question for you, I cannot find a 521 yoke around here, so what if one put the flange on the end of the driveline that connects to the 521 yoke, and then bolt the flange and yoke together, how much longer does that make the driveline?

Okay..
Here's the 521 set up. We'll half.
The yoke isn't bolted on.
Wayno your asking for the measurements of THIS drive line bolted together yes?

And here's the 521 yoke.

I'm remembering I had put the flange that bolts to the 521 yoke onto the 520 one piece. This set up didn't work and that's why I changed to the 720 slip yoke.

Why does the inside of that tail look all chewed up?
