I guess it's possible. Every one I've ever come across was a 5spd but that doesn't mean much. I've always had a fondness for the liftback 210s. Seems to me that a KA (or something similar) swap would make them a fun little sleeper.

Been thinking about a kab210. If I can get my dirt bike sold I could buy wayno 521. Then I'd have another daily. And that could be an option. Ka or even an L series would be sweet. Would really love a ka b210. Shit would really rip.

Of course the price is a big problem, but it's not often we see one for sale.

if it was closer, I'd score the 63a 5 speed tranny for cheap. I sold one for 500$ to a guy in Florida and that was me giving it away for that price. They normally go for 700$.

I can hardly believe these transmissions are bringing these types of prices, in my opinion they are pieces of shit transmissions.
I went thru 4 of them in 5 years, one gets an attitude of disdain after having to R&R one that many times in such a short period.
Since that 4th transmission was removed and replaced with a 1985 720 short shaft 5 speed with an "L" front case, I only had to change the transmission once in 5 years, and I only had to do that because the second gear synchro was shot, and I was tired of that and it popping out of first under compression, I did lose another one recently because of the cluster gear shaft getting broken and a bearing going thru the gears resulting in the broken shaft, but the days of a howling 63A transmission are over for me, and the resultant tow home when it does explode.
One must keep in mind that I use my truck as a truck to haul things and pull a trailer, if you don't ever haul loads in your truck, and treat it like a car(not race car), I suppose the transmission could last you years, but I for one am not willing to deal with it anymore since there is a way better alternative.

I loved the A-series version I had in my 1200. Whole different usage though.

I have heard of guys using them in race cars(circle track), but they never used 5th gear, which is the weak spot in those 63A transmissions, 5th gear cannot take a load for long, and when I had 437 gears in the work truck, you have to use 5th, otherwise the engine will be screaming in 4th going down the freeway.
There is a well known guy in the Datsun world, his name is Dan Hart, he told me if you are going to haul a load with a Dogleg 5 speed, use 4th gear, that pretty well sums it up.
They work great in small cars like the 210/310, I mean how much weight can one get in one of them cars.
That is unless you are me, I used to load my Datsun roadster up big time, with a hangglider or two, all my camping equipment, my bike, and anything else that would not fit in the cab ended up strapped on the convertible hard top, it looked like the Grapes of Wrath, I received a lot of judgmental looks going down the freeway at 70mph, my friends thought it was hilarious.

All 4 of them went to scrap long ago, it was cheaper to buy another one than it was to have one rebuilt, but they were still cheap back then(under $200.00).

Just to make sure I'm right, this 63A is the one you can put in a 2 door 510 without cutting anything right? That's the reason I want it. I have a 4-speed (stock 510) and a 5-speed from God knows what. I'd rather install something where no body cutting is involved.

That's correct.

You still might need a rear cross member. I did. No cutting though :)

You can also make what you need like I did, and I believe it will bolt right in like the dogleg will, let me put it this way, I used to use the dogleg in my truck, when I made my short shaft 5 speed, it bolted right in to my 521 where the dogleg was without any modifications, so whatever modifications you have to make to install a dogleg in a 510 are the same as the ones needed to bolt in the transmission you can make following my article in the link below.
