Re: BLUE's Copper ZXT
The freeze plug behind the timing cover looked fairly newer realistically. (has sealant around the edges)

Rear freeze plug above the rear main looked the same.

Re: BLUE's Copper ZXT
I made the big rookie mistake of not pressure washing off the engine/block before tearing into it (bad call)... I didn't think I would be this far in initially...
Doh !!
Not that I can't do that now ... it's just not preferable.
The breather tube is loose as a goose in a noose (sorry had to).
Anyways will look for some ways to keep it where it's meant to be without popping out.
Hadn't thought passed taking the picture... I'm a wuss tonight.

Re: BLUE's Copper ZXT
What's the projected finish date on this engine?
When the only tool you have is a hammer every problem starts to look like a hippy.

The year 2020 , but usually I go a little over... so maybe tack on an extra 6-months for good measure !DRIVEN wrote:What's the projected finish date on this engine?

Re: BLUE's Copper ZXT
Picked up some NOS and re-manufactured parts tonight as a package from another datsun nut.
CHROME (I think or premium) NOS Sealed Power 280zx (81-83) piston rings , 280z alternator (re-manufactured quiet bearings) , and a Maxima water pump (Re-manufactured).

I haven't decided entirely which ring-set I'll be using at the moment lol.
That's all for now
