So, I cheers you... Glass to glass, opinions and and bullshit set aside. As the great Jrock said.. We are here, for one purpose... Datsuns.. That's at least, one thing we can all agree.

Re: The Killer B
Got two intake gaskets, two oil pan gaskets, two valve cover gaskets, and two head gaskets in the mail from rock auto!
Friday night I will probably start tear down on the motor. I am thinking about bringing the head in the house so the valves don't get rusty. I sprayed the head down (valves etc) with WD40. I might put a little oil in a spray bottle and shoot it in the head for now just to make sure nothing rusts. Being newly machined and refreshed I don't want anything wrong with it. then I will just need to finish cleaning the block, shooting some paint, etc.. and it will be ready for install after re-assembly.
it needs a little clean up, cuz it was in a machine shop, kind of half ass assembled... then sat for a long time, has crud in the head and a little in the piston holes. Just needs a little cleaning... and should be good to go!

Paint stripper... a quick scrape and a wash. Ill hit it lightly with a wire wheel then 180 or 300 grit and throw some new paint on iy.

Re: The Killer B
Oh really?
FWD a14 real similar to RWD A14? Cuz my a14 that is rebuilt is missing the oil dipstick hole, and someone drilled a hole in the oil pan then globbed some welds on there for a dipstick location.

Re: The Killer B
I ran an A14 out of an F10 on my 1200 without much problem. Even used the weird oil pan. The F10 is this superlong front sump pan, it fit but did hang down a bit low. On the B210 which is mid-sump you would have to change the oil pan to mid sump. Let me see if I can scan and post a pic. The F10 dipstick comes out of the front of the oilpan.izzo wrote:Oh really?

I also have that exact valve cover on my B210 now, the angle of the vent in the back is a bit irritating though.

Re: The Killer B
Well, the oil pan is custom. It doesn't look like that one. But that would explain the missing dipstick hole. Also, I noticed my B210 motor has a small thermostat housing, and this one looks like the picture above.
Fawk. I dunno if I feel comfy drilling a hole for the oil dipstick.............................................Guess I will compare the A14 in the B to the A14 on the ground and try to drill it in the same spot.
Do you know if the thermostat housing can be swapped?

Re: The Killer B
I don't know. I don't see anything about the cylinder head being any different except for a boss for a clamp so it seems like it should be.izzo wrote:Well, the oil pan is custom. Re: The Killer B
There's the two bolt holes with that clamp you speak of, then there is also this valve looking thing with threads that threads into the water outlet and has a hose connected to it. IDK what that's for... But oh well
Luckily the the thermo gasket is the same used on a billion other cars, so its easily available at any auto parts store and about fitty cents! Just checked on fuel pump gaskets, those are easily available too. The only one I can't get my hands on is an oil pump gasket. Those seem to be only avail in the gasket kits / complete. And i'm not ordering an entire gasket kit for a single gasket.
I will take my time and trace the bish out, and then cut it out of gasket paper.

Re: The Killer B
It's getting there.
I need to get a water pump gasket (just incase this water pump is different than that of what I have a fan for, they are different over the years... So i'd rather have one just in case)
I need a thermostat housing gasket
And some RTV.
About 8 bucks in parts to finish up this motor. I am holding off, in hopes someone will buy my awesome items for sale. I can then get a different radiator, and hopefully a new clutch kit for this so I can have no worries and just rock the bish for time to come.

Nope. Grabs great, wasn't sure if it was new or not. So it's only about a year old - there for I won't worry aboot it.
All I have left to do is mentioned above, two gaskets and some RTV.... Wanna come over sometime an do a motorz swappy swaps with me? It's sitting just as pictured above. I have the head in my house so it stays dry. Sitting next to my tv staying cozy and warm (NO RUST FOR THIS HEAD BISHES)
I stopped last night to take a shower n eat. Watched a bunch of movies and passed out.

Re: The Killer B
New radiator from eagle adam, thanks man!
Ran the car at 4500 RPMS for 15 minutes straight down some back roads. Couldn't get it to get any warmer than this, sun was out, too!
