welded in some D rings by the wheel wells, easier to tie the bike down this way. Kinda small, but will hold 300lbs of load each. I just put enough force to hold the bike from tipping/leaning or worse falling out

i drive a lowered datsun with street tires.. I fucking made it. sideways, and almost lost it, but i made it. so with that, they sent me home, only to come back and close since all the other fucks called out.

its actually quite easy to do them one side at a time. I was pretty shocked. more than I thought but not as bad.
i removed caliper, hung it, removed last bolt holding steering to it...
Loosened the castle nuts, then ball joint nuts... then used a 5 lb hammer to loosen ball joints from knuckle. then everything just popped out... easy as shit.
I did leave one bolt in the tension control rod thru the lower control arm at all times, however i could have removed them and it would not have popped out of place.... install was easy... clean surface of where ball joint boot hits the knuckle, then put it all back together... tomorrow is alignment and its done... steering is tight now

well
at my grandpas funeral yesterday i tried talking to the guy that got my grandpas truck. i dont know if he is going to let it go or not. it has sentimental value to him as well. its just sitting and rotting away. my other uncles ganged up on him with me and told him to let me have it. he's owned it for 7-8 years and its just sat. the body is getting bad. He asked if i knew how to wrench... So i talked some with him, and he let me know it would need a motor... but didn't mention anything about letting it go. I really want it.. my grandpa owned it since 66, and its a 1964 model pickup...
Gah man... I don't want it for just some quick money. I would die with this thing.. As in, no way it would ever be sold. I want it for my own memories, and to start restoring it. it pisses me off its been setting that long and he won't do anything with it... "Going to restore it one day"..... just rotting away
It's all i can think about anymore...

so because of the ball joints needing replaced it killed the driver front tire a little. not bad, still has tread. But They should be replaced.
So I priced out new tires. 177-250 bucks. So I bought a datsun instead. Should arrive tomorrow. It has good wheels and tires on it, just no motor or trans. Going to go thru it a little and make sure things are tits, like brakes, electrical, then stuff my motor and trans in it.
