I sanded all the metal with 80 grit, before the RAGE ultra body filler ... any coarser grit sandpaper will need filler to hide the scratches:

I modified the gas door to fit a 510 gas door lock ... because a 160j has a lock instead of the 710 pull handle:

Someone working on their Datsun, keep going at this speed and your going to be done in no time.
Problem is that once you are done, there will be no new photos to look at, so take your time. :lol:

Always read the Data sheets for paint and body filler .... This self etching primer says it can go over fully cured body filler, but DO NOT put it under body filler:

I still tried to avoid getting it on the biggest filler spots:

Then high build / surfacer primer: ... cause it doesn't stick good enough to bare metal, but it is good on body filler:

I found a 12" wide ,semi-flexible "triple knife edge" drywall spreader, for $1.99, that's great for spreading body filler:

Then roughed it out with a 1/4 sheet electric block sander ... and finished with a 1/2 sheet sanding block, by hand:
