I spotted some wheels just like that at work today. What are the odds?

They totally put the weights on the outside. I thought it was understood you never do that except on OEM wheels... eh whatever

The boss did the job. I can't make excuses for him. I would have used stick-ons though.

Got em on the car yet? It's gotta be close to driveable by now.

Not on the car. They can go on at any time. It will take 5 minutes. I figure Ill try and shine up the rims first. And get rid of that terrible rattlecan gloss black.

Found the color for the Rikens. The black was just a little too dark. Maybe if I did a Satin it would be ok, but nah, I want gloss, and not so dark.

So this is "Graphite" with a clear coat. In person it looks very wet, and has a bit of a sparkle to it.

I still need to polish the lips, That will be fun...

Went to go look for my stack of Sand Paper... Its gone... I guess I threw it out and/or used it....

I had a nice range of 150-2000. Guess I will have to start my stash again. This time Ill keep it in an accordion folder.

And I bought this Friday. Springfield XDS 9mm. Single stack. Standard mags are 7+1 extended is 9+1. My pinky is 90% on the grip with the standard mag. Only safeties are the grip and trigger safeties. And its pretty thin coming in at exactly an inch.

I carry and XD40 subcompact as my daily concealed carry.

Great choice, mine has yet to fail, stovepipe, or jam :)

Most of the Springfield line is awsome, the xd45gap was a total disapointment, but thats the only one.
They make a fine 1911 too, very fine.

Ok, decided to polish a rim. Wet sanded 220>400>800>1000. Then I tried a few compounds. The blue magic metal polish is bomb, but I dont want to have to work that hard. So then I used some White Rouge polish on a wheel I had. Wow. Its still a bit hazy. But it will do for now...

So I have 2 wheels polished, 1 painted... I figured out there was a Clear coat on the lips, so I am just going to wait to use some stripper before I continue on the wheels.

I am hoping to get the car back on the street again shortly. I realized the stupid Saturn costs way more on insurance than the Datsun, because its a red 2dr... making a whopping 100hp new... But dont let the addition of ABS and airbags and FWD confuse you, it costs $40 more a month for full coverage, vs the Datsun. So actually that evens out after the gas bill... I HATE the Saturn though. Its 100% soulless. There is no charm or character about the car. Its simply a boring commuter car, and I hate riding in it.

So I picked up a T/C rod and Pocket from Bothwell awhile back. Came with part of a frame rail too! I had cut some of it off previously. I drilled out all the spot welds, and pried them apart to make sure it was free. Next I need to cut an interior weld. My new cutoff disc was in the car, and it was late. Then I will clean it up, and get it welded to the car. At which point the suspension will be done.

As for the rest of the car. A;lkhdfpoash. I have mixed feelings how I want to do it. Im thinking I will straighten the valence (It can already bolt up again...) some more, beat the corner of the hood back up and untweak the frame a bit. Passenger fender is fine. I have a replacement drivers fender, Im probably going to do something temporary on it, as its not a good time to be painting... Ill paint it later.
