I'm definitely thinking something woodgrain. We'll see when I get to the interior.

Today was a long day..

Heres what I got done:

Installed radiator
Installed bought and installed new fan belt
Successfully deleted the rest of the air injection system and plugged the rest of the holes
Installed driveline
Installed Exhaust
Filled tranny with fluid (stinky shit...)
Hooked up parking brake again
Installed new 200sx slave cylinder and bled.
Filled engine and cooling system.
Modded trans access plate and mounted

After fiddling with the starter for a bit... it fired right up!! That was my goal for the weekend.

A bonus, I was able to successfully shift through all the gears in the dogleg. Everything was smooth with no load on it. I'm still waiting for the tranny crossmember from T3.

Next up.. more brake bleeding.

Pretty stoked!!!

wow man that is quite the list!

Trans fluid is stinky shit. Cost me 20 bucks for two things of GL4 at napa. not cheap either lol.

I put some cheaper crap in there. GL4.. but I'm just going to run it a few more times while it's in the air and drain it out. Will probably run MT-90 or something. Gotta read the fine print on it first.

Got a little more work done today.

Installed new points (I had them sitting around before I bought the EL dizzy.)
Installed new cap, rotors, wires
Gapped plugs

Engine was still barely running.. and it was running like shit.

Looks like cylinder 3 was not firing.. and the spark plugs show it's running really rich. I've confirmed I've got spark.. plug looks wet. Next up, compression test again. Previous numbers were okay. I've already adjusted the valves.

Hoping for the best!

Pull the original compression numbers from before I ever started the engine.

1. 90
2. 135
3. 60
4. 155

I gotta say, #3 is a little discouraging. But if I recall after getting it running those numbers improved. Let me see if I can find them

Nope, I didn't. I'll compression test it again tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

ah hell even gl5 ran a few times just in the air won't hurt anything. It's over time that the detergents in gl5 wear down your brass in the tranny. But good on you for using even cheap gl4 lol.

PS, you probably know. But if it says GL4 & gl5 compatible, you don't want to use it long term. GL4 only

Sta-lube for the win!

Yeah, I did some research before commiting. I bought some valvoline GL4. Not sure if it was a mix, but it was reported by the manufacture to no have the activated sulfates in it that are not safe for yellow metals. Also reported their GL5 does not use these activated sulfates either.

Regardless of all that, I'm just flushing the trans. It was open to the air for a long time. No rust.. and it was pretty clean. But nothing like a solid flush. :troll:

Compression numbers from today:

0-60
150
170
170

The weird part is that #3 was the one not firing. Anyway, leakdown showed 100% out the exhaust.

I popped the lid, found the lash pad popped out. Haven't fixed it yet.

Once I put it back in, it's time to figure out why #3 wasn't firing. Compression is good... spark was good, fuel is fine... spark at wrong time?

Adjusted all valves again and compression tested:

170
150
165
160

Not fantastic... but much better!
