more crusty parts...
got my s13 intake. yes, ive decided to go injected. been looking at the microsquirt that DIYautotune makes. same guys that make the megasquirt boxes..
the box with the harness and sensors is only $385 with shipping, so this is how its gonna go.
intake..
gonna need a few things.. lol
prolly gonna run dsm 450s, walbro 255, 2 bar GM map, 57 trim on 6lbs.. should be good for at least 220 horse at the wheels.
gonna try and order the engine kit here in a few weeks. gonna see if the machine shop by my house does balancing. if so, ill need to get a flywheel and clutch kit to have it balanced with it. i want this thing smooth as i can get it.
peach butt...
more after the break...

dug out the old injectors and rail from the KA.. the ones that were on the truck intake.
the injectors and rail bolts up, but the regulator is on the front on the s13 intake..
soooo, i guess we'll see how this turns out. not sure if ill even use this rail if i go with bigger injectors..
pics..

so i have the engine in the truck. i have some pictures that i havnt gotten on my photofuckit yet..
main concern is the oil pan is like a 1/2 deeper in the deepest part of the sump.. hangs below the engine crossmember pretty well now. ive gotta make a skid plate now for sure.
twin cam head is bigger, obviously, and it hits the throttle cable where it mounts on the firewall. gotta carefully bend that some more.
im hoping an s13 DE exhaust manifold will bolt in or at least be close. it has the same flange with the 2 holes and 3 bolts. side by side with a single cam exhaust it looks like it should work. crossing my fingers.
gotta start taking the frontier intake apart. strip all the injection shit off it.. gonna get the injector holes and the PVC port welded closes.. prolly the same with the EGR valve port too.
ill get the pic uploaded on the way home from work.

never fear.. pictures are here..
getting started monday...
single cam out.. takes about an hour to get it here..
twin cam in.. had to get a new pilot bushing, but that was it.. bolted right up..
used my thicker swap mounts on this one.. gonna pass the originals down hopefully.. also looks like i can use an s13 DE exhaust manifold too. they look like they dump in the same spot as the single cam manifold.. again, fingers crossed. theres a guy here local with a few for sale. gonna try and see if i can grab one from him before the weekend..
sooo, now i have to strip that intake so i can get it welded up on sunday night. i need to die grind the shit out of the plenum area and knife edge all the hard edges so it flows real nice.
the exhaust manifold is the only thing really holding me up.. we'll see...
more to come.

lol.. not alot of power... at least not with the stock cams. but this will be about the same as the worn out single cam.
im gonna put some altima 248 cams in it, and then its gonna make some power.

sooo i found an s13 exhaust manifold thats pretty local.
gotta drive to mountain home, but the guy only wants 20 bucks for the manifold and a good s13 headpipe.
im really hoping that it will bolt up to the exhaust i built for the single cam.

okie dokie then...
got that exhaust manifold, and it fits pretty well. only had to make one cut on the headpipe i built for the single cam.
this was the mockup.. pre cut and weld.
also got the intake stripped down..
mocked it up..
with carb..
random...
heres some close ups on the plenum area..
and then heres the intake all welded up..
so now it just putting it together..
i need to:
mount the distributor pedestal
install intake
hook up coolant/heater hoses
bolt adapter and carb to intake
bolt up the exhaust
cut flex pipe for exhaust
fill it up with oil
install radiator
rewire cooling fan
fill with coolant
see if it will fire up.
gonna try and squeeze in a few hours before work tomorrow. might drive it to work if it get it goin quickly..
more to come..

hey man sorry i didn't quite read thru all this stuff
I'm bad at that. did you see what ermish had for sale the other day? he had a carbbed intake for DE head. Looked super nice. Was setup for 500 CFM carb or whatever i think. he only asked 100 bones for it too. I almost bought it just to buy it.
The only reason i reply without reading is i get excited after seeing the pics! haha. Going back to read errathing now
